you have the words of everlasting life.”

Mass Readings for Today

From the President's Desk

Dear Savio Family,

We are now into the month of October, which means that many stores enter the "multiverse of seasons" as they put out Halloween candy and costumes, Fall decorations, and early signs of Christmas items all at once.

With so much pressure to "prepare the way" for these festivities, it is understandable that additional pressure is placed on all of us to respond or ignore these marketing strategies.

As Savio moves through the remainder of the first quarter and transitions to the second quarter of the year, we also present items for your attention, review, and discernment. Report cards, various school activities, and the annual appeal are a few that come to mind.

Please know we respect your time, your resources, and your schedules with all of these things. We hope you know that part of our responsibility is to "tell the story" of how your child is doing via open houses, conferences, and grade cards. We need to "tell the story" of our service projects, retreats, the arts and clubs. We need to "tell the story" of our annual fund appeal as it is a key funding source for all that we do at Savio.

So, let's all take a collective moment, breathe in peaceful and calming thoughts, and somehow juggle all of this while trying to live one day at a time. Reach out to others when you need help or clarification. Helps others who reach out to you. And instead of shopping for holiday stuff tonight, come on over to Savio to hear our excellent musicians at the concert that starts at 7 pm. It will save you money and help us celebrate our talented musicians at the same time!

Take care and God bless.

Tim

Principal's Message

Dear Savio Family,

First of all, I want to say thank you to all of you who helped make last week's International Festival a success. Whether you spent time making food, serving food, or attending Mass, last week would not have been possible without all our parents helping out and modeling true servant leadership for our students.

We are looking forward to Homecoming next week from October 10th to the 14th. It will be another wonderful week of celebrations for our students, faculty staff, and parents. It will include theme dress days, a pep rally, football game and dance. Homecoming dance tickets and mums are on sale. If your children have yet to purchase them make sure they do so soon.

On October 16th to the 19th we will be having an accreditation visit from the Texas Catholic Conference of Bishops Education Department (TCCB ED). The purpose of the accreditation visit is to ensure that we are meeting certain academic standards and effectively living out our Catholic mission and identity. We have been working hard to prepare for this visit and we are ready to show what Savio is all about.

As always if you have any questions or if we can be of any assistance to you please let us know. Rest assured of our prayers for you. Please pray for our whole school community as we navigate this busy month of October.

Thank you and God Bless,

Evan
