Our first event “Denim & Halos Drop In at The Barn” is in the books and Melissa, Gillian and their committee hit it out of the park! The event was a big success and the event space was so beautiful! Such a great day of shopping, fashion show and line dancing as well as just relaxing on the back porch and yard staring at Saguaro National Monument. Thank you so much for all who supported and attended this event. 

Now we are in the throes of raising all of the money we have promised the beneficiaries. We hope as you embark on your summer, you have a great time but that you continue to solicit potential donors for CCU money, casino gifts, chance tickets and silent auction items. Our committee chairs and members are all hard at work with their committees!

A Note about Casino Gifts

Thank you to all who have begun dropping off casino gifts at the Angel office. A reminder that requirements for Cherubs & Committee Members is 15 gifts, Actives 3 gifts, and Ten Plus 1 gift. Actives and Ten Plus members also have the option to buy out their commitment.

If you are planning on soliciting a person or business that isn’t currently assigned to you on the Approved & Proposed Solicitation or please email Melissa at angelcharitymelissa@gmail.com or make a request on the spreadsheet directly. We would like to avoid any misunderstandings which result in donors being solicited multiple times.

Please reach out if you have questions or would like the giving history of your assigned donors.

If you have any packaging, bubbly wrap or big boxes that you can donate please drop them off at the angel office (amazon, etc.)

Angel Charity, at its May Board of Directors meeting, adopted the following Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Statement: 

Angel Charity for Children, Inc. is guided by respect for all people with a mission to help as many children as possible in Southern Arizona. Angel Charity invests in projects that benefit and celebrate children of diverse communities, backgrounds, and needs. These values both inspire us and define our success. 

Angel Charity continues to seek and serve beneficiary organizations with diversity of need, insight, expertise, and ideas. Our beneficiaries serve children of all cultures, so they and we may better our local community and future generations. Angel Charity is committed to welcoming members and promoting leaders that reflect this same broad diversity.

Angel has created an ad hoc committee to address thoughts on broadening the diversity of our membership and our leadership. We welcome everyone, from Cherubs to Sustainers, to participate in this thought leadership exercise. If you would like to be included, or you would like to give some feedback (as many of you are beating the heat this summer) please send me an email at ckeegan@klkcpa.com, drop me a note in my box at the Angel Office or to my business address at 3443 N. Campbell #115, Tucson, AZ 85719. I will send out a notice within 30 days with potential times and dates. Depending on the number of interested Angels, we may have several dates available.

CCU Update Corner

Thank you to the CCU committee and all of the other wonderful Angels that have mailed their donor letters! Proper stewardship of our donors is one of Angel's most important responsibilities.

The "candles lit" on our 40th Anniversary cake are now 7, each represents $36,500 a total of $248,000 in donations only $900,040 to go! Well done ANGELS!

Spotlight on Cherubs
We are proud to start introducing you to our 24 Cherubs in the class of 2022.
Rachel Clark
Rachel is a Real Estate Investor and Owner of Fix & Flip Co. Rachel and her husband Ryan Munday are the proud parents of dog Paisley. Rachel has lived in Tucson her entire life and volunteers with Christian Youth Theater. Rachel joined Angel Charity “to help and improve my local community." 
Ellyn Gold
Ellyn is retired and enjoying life with husband Jeffrey Gold. Ellyn has four adult children, Naomi, Bari, Alexis, and Zachary. Ellyn has lived in Tucson for 16 years after moving from Chicago. She volunteers with Lion of Judah and Integrative Touch. Ellyn joined Angel Charity “because I like the mission: that of raising money through creative events by enthusiastic and resolute volunteers. These attributes match my character and personality. In addition, I enjoy the women that I know who have been members of Angel Charity and am looking forward to meeting others”. 
Caroline Hurt
Caroline is a Business Development Professional. Caroline and her husband Michael have two children, Elise (8) and Mac (6). They moved from Leesburg, VA nine months ago where Caroline was involved with multiple volunteer organizations including Boys & Girls Clubs. Caroline joined Angel Charity because she has “missed volunteering and wanted to find a way to give back to my local community.” She also believes “that we are all children of God, and that by serving those in need we are simultaneously serving God”. 
Lia Keller
Lia is an Attorney and Owner of Keller Legal Resources, PLLC. She is the mother of two children, Xavier (21) and Soren (17). Lia is an active volunteer with Primavera Cooks and has served on several boards at her children’s schools. Lia has lived in Tucson for 20 years, having moved from Colorado. Lia joined Angel Charity because she “heard many friends speak of the amazing work Angel Charity has done through the years and the wonderful people they have met. It was time to say yes to the wonderful people and the mission”.
