COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER
NEW: IF YOU MISSED THE NAVIANCE WORKSHOP The best way to get the information covered in the workshop is to visit  College & Career 101 . We created this website to help students/families understand and navigate all the post-graduation options, especially college. In addition to how to use Naviance, it contains a boatload of information and how-to's, and it is much more comprehensive than what was covered in the workshop. On it you'll find:
  • Grade-specific checklists
  • College planning resources: Naviance guide, researching colleges, college essay tips, college applications, financial aid, special programs
  • Exploring your options: choosing a major, career exploration, summer programs, community service opportunities, alternatives after high school
  • and much more
Each year we re-introduce this website to every student in hopes they will learn how to use it to its fullest so that they can independently find answers to their questions. Hopefully your student is already familiar with it and can give you an overview. If not, it's very easy to navigate.

UPDATED: LAST CALL FOR COLLEGE ESSAY WORKSHOP The College & Career Center is offering two 2-part workshops to help Juniors applying to college understand what makes a good college essay. They will get a general overview, then we’ll work with students one-on-one to outline and draft their essay. After the workshop, we’ll continue to work one-on-one with these students until the essay is finalized. Students can register for either the June or August workshop. Space is limited. Register here.

RECORDING OF "APPEALING FINANCIAL AID" WEBINAR For those families that were unable to attend this very helpful webinar earlier in April or those who just want to review it, you can find the recorded webinar here.

PARENT EDUCATION
HOME FOR SUMMER Do you have a 2021 graduate coming home from college for the summer for the first time? It may seem like just yesterday since you dropped your teen off at college, but they are coming back a different person. Keep in mind, they left your home as a recently graduated high school student. But, they are returning as someone who has taken their first steps into the adult world. As a result, they are bound to be a little different than the last time you saw them. We hope these articles help you with the transition back home. Home from college. Transition back home.

If you have parent education topic ideas or shareable resources, please reach out to Parent Education Chairs Alicia Griffith or Chris Flitter. For information about Parent Education Opportunities, visit the parent education page on the CPC website.
