The Guardian Angels staff and I look forward to finishing the year in an engaging and meaningful manner, helping every student earn their HALO! Registration & Re-Enrollment Need Completed Soon

Wow! What a start to our enrollment for the 2022-2023 school year! Early enrollment allows for our school and parish administrators to properly plan for the upcoming school year. We are blessed to have such an amazing community at GA and have experienced a strong interest from new students and families to enroll for next year. If you have not yet re-enrolled your students, please do so immediately. Re-enrollment links can be completed via the emails sent by Mark Rinaudo on February 15. This link to re-enroll expires next week.

Message From The Nurse's Office

Allergy Season is upon us! Many students are experiencing itchy eyes, runny noses, and sneezing. In addition, it is not uncommon for sleep to suffer when they experience these symptoms.

I wanted to put out a friendly reminder that if your child experiences seasonal allergies, the following measures may be helpful:

  • Wash your hands with soap and water or use a wet wipe when coming indoors (this is more effective than hand sanitizer for allergies).
  • Remove clothes you've worn outside and shower to rinse pollen from your skin and hair (especially before bed).
  • Remove shoes when entering your home in order to avoid tracking pollen throughout the house.
  • If you take an allergy medication, and have not done so, start taking it regularly through the allergy season.
  • It can be helpful to wear a facemask outside when allergens are high.
  • if you know your allergens, you can follow counts online here.

I wish everyone a happy, healthy spring!

Donate $1, Dance a Jig, And Wear Your Green

On St. Patrick’s Day (Thursday, March 17), you are permitted to wear a GREEN out of uniform shirt with your uniform bottoms or G.A. sweatpants. Please wear school appropriate out-of-uniform shirts.

By donating $1.00, you are supporting local charities in their unending work for the poor of Cincinnati. These people, like the real Saint Patrick, work tirelessly to care for the spiritual and physical needs of many people.

Leprechauns are actually one reason you’re supposed to wear green on St. Patrick’s Day — or risk getting pinched! The tradition is tied to folklore that says wearing green makes you invisible to leprechauns, which like to pinch anyone they can see. Some people also think sporting the color will bring good luck, and others wear it to honor their Irish ancestry.

Message From St. Vincent de Paul About St. Joseph's Table

Dear Families of GA;

During the Middle Ages in Sicily, there was an exceptionally severe drought. No rain fell for an extended period of time, no crops would grow, and countless people died in the ensuing famine. The peasants prayed to God for rain, and they also prayed to St. Joseph to intercede with God on their behalf. They promised that if God caused it to rain, they would have a special feast honoring God and St. Joseph and share the bounty with the poor.

Miraculously, the rains came and the crops were planted. With the harvest, the people prepared a feast of foods from their crops. All were invited to share in the bounty. This has become known as the Tavola di San Giuseppe (St. Joseph’s Table). Through the centuries, and around the world, people have used this festive table to express their thanks for favors granted through the intercession of St. Joseph.

In honor of St. Joseph, whose feast day is March 19th, we ask for what is needed to help our neighbors today. The items most needed are listed below by grade level. (Many of these necessary items may not be purchased with Food Assistance Cards.) We invite you to offer a family prayer to St. Joseph, and as a sign of gratitude for our blessings, provide an item(s) for those who count on our generosity. You may bring your offering to school from Monday, March 14th through Friday, March 18th.

Thank you,

Playground Hours

As the weather begins to warm up, we want to remind everyone of the hours of operation for our new playground equipment. The portion of the new playground that was installed in the fall sits outside the area where our old equipment sat. Since it is outside the mulch area and is now closer to other property lines, the portion of the equipment with the slide CANNOT be used outside of the posted playground operating hours. Those hours are 8:00am-6:00pm.

Students are asked to bring in two dozen cookies, brownies, or rice krispie bars on their classroom's designated day. They do need to be bagged, two treats per bag. All 4th grade classes are responsible for the next donation on Monday, March 14th. Donations of juice boxes and prepackaged snacks are also needed. complete schedule for the school year is attached

If your child will be absent or late to school, please call the main school office by 8:00 each morning. We recently upgraded our telephone system. In doing so, we removed the former “attendance line.” All parents needing to report their child absent or late to school should call our Office Assistant, Melissa Boston, using the main school phone number - 624-3141.

Christian Service Program - Faith in Action

The purpose of the Christian Service Program is to enhance the religion curriculum at Guardian Angels Church. It is the duty of all Christians to reach out in service to those around them. Christ asks us to be His hands and feet on earth, keeping His mission of reaching out to those in need alive. The students will complete their service within the following settings: at home, the parish community/school and the community at-large. This outreach may be completed individually, with a partner, or in a group.

This program will focus more on the meaning of the actual service opportunities rather than completing a prescribed amount of time. You will choose activities for each component—service to your family, service to your school/parish and service to the poor and vulnerable in our community. There is no minimum requirement of hours to complete. Grades 1-3 are required to complete at least 2 activities for each component; grades 4-8 at least 3 for each. You are certainly encouraged to complete more! See your Religion teacher, Mrs. Froehlich, or the parish website for a list of suggested activities and the log sheet.
