Help NOAS celebrate Kimber's adoption.

This month, NOAS celebrated another adoption. 10-year-old Kimber was warmly welcomed by her new family after spending 696 days in foster care.

If you haven't attended yet, you DON'T want to miss out again -- this is a must-attend event organized by NOAS.

The evening will feature a dinner buffet and dessert—a cash bar for beer, wine, and pop. Complimentary coffee, tea, and lemonade will be provided. After dinner, Comedian Karen Vadino will be entertaining us with "Life After COVID." There will also be a designer purse raffle, a 50/50 raffle, and a chance auction.

WELCOME KAITLIN

Please help NOAS welcome Kaitlin Irgang as IGNITE Mentor Program Coordinator.

She is excited to help re-energize the mentor program.

FOSTER FAMILIES NEEDED

Did you know foster families who give school-age children and teens a chance prefer fostering older children over babies?

In Ohio, nearly 15,000 school-age children and teens live in out-of-home placement settings, and the need for foster parents is at an all-time high. If you have ever considered providing a safe, stable, and nurturing home environment as a foster parent, contact NOAS for more information. NOAS will be hosting pre-placement classes beginning on November 7th. For more information, call Michelle at 330-856-5582, ext. 123.

NOAS INTRODUCES CORE TEEN PROGRAM

It's almost time for our annual Angel Tree! Every year, we have a Christmas tree decorated with angels listing the individual names of the children we serve and their Christmas wish/gift list. Starting Tuesday, November 1st, you can come to our Warren office at the Market Place Plaza, 5000 E. Market St., Monday-Thursday from 8:30 am - 5:00 pm, to pick out your "Angel." We understand that it can be more fun to shop for the little ones, but we also serve young adults ages 18-21, and they, too, deserve a little extra caring at Christmas time. We hope that you'll join in this loved tradition with us ... and please don't wait long as our "Angels" all go fast!

**All wrapped gifts must be returned to NOAS no later than Thursday, December 1st, for distribution.

STATEWIDE FOSTER CARE SURVEY

We want to hear from you! To better understand the need, organize strategies, and provide reporting to ODJFS on strengths and potential improvements to the children services sector, current and former foster families across the state of Ohio are invited to answer a survey that was mailed in September. Families may answer this survey via mail using the hard copy that was mailed to them or digitally by clicking on the link below. The survey is to be completed by November 30, 2022.

IGNITE MENTOR END OF YEAR CELEBRATION

The Ignite Mentoring Program had its year-end celebration on October 9th at Kuchta Farms. Mentors and Mentees got to navigate a corn maze, enjoy a wagon ride, paint pumpkins and share a meal. Fun was had by all! Thank you to all of our 2022 Ignite Mentoring Program participants.

If you are interested in becoming a mentor please contact Kaitlin Irgang, program coordinator, at 330-980-4505.

WINGS -N- WHEELS DONATION

The Ernie Hall Aviation Museum hosted their 8th Annual Wings -N- Wheels event on August 6th and 7th, and we had the gift of being one of the event’s beneficiaries! We received $3,000 to help local foster youth find a connection. We had such a blast volunteering at the event, and are so thankful for their desire to give towards NOAS mission to inspire, develop, and nurture enduring support and connections for current and former foster youth and those at risk of coming into care.
