DISTRICT MISSION: The mission of the Cedarburg School District is to provide an exemplary education that challenges students in a nurturing environment to develop into lifelong learners, to become responsible adults, and to achieve their goals and dreams.
From the Superintendent
Dear CSD Parents and Families,

I hope all of you had the opportunity to enjoy your Spring Break and the long Easter weekend. The holidays are a grand opportunity for quality family time to rest and recharge. We all look forward to launching a successful fourth quarter and, with eight weeks left, a strong finish to the school year.

This past month, there were numerous activities that I had the opportunity to participate in. A couple of events I attended were the 5th Grade Sail America presentations at Thorson, the STEAM Fair at Webster, and the Cedarburg High School 180 ̊ Awards ceremony.

At Thorson, Sail America was a whole class project. Each 5th-grade student selected a region in the United States and presented that region's economic, agricultural, and environmental highlights from colonial times. As a participant, I was assigned a colonial identity (shipbuilder, farmer, etc.). As I talked to each student, my goal was to determine which region would be the best for me. It was a great experience to hear how much the students had learned about Colonial America!

The Webster STEAM Fair was a mini-science fair held in the IMC. Students developed an experiment or presentation which demonstrated a scientific principle. Two excellent examples of the types of work represented were a claymation video and a go-cart presentation. It was phenomenal to see how many of our middle school students embraced the opportunity to dive deeper into science and then be willing to share their knowledge with others.

Lastly, I attended the Cedarburg High School 180 ̊ Awards Ceremony yesterday morning. This award is given to students who increased their GPA by .75 over the past year. High School teachers recorded a short vignette for each student, playing as the students were introduced. Hearing about each student's hard work and dedication over the past year was a pleasure.

I can tell you how blessed I feel to be a part of the Cedarburg community. I truly treasure the opportunity to serve as your school superintendent.

Wishing you and your family the best,

Dr. Jeridon Clark, Superintendent
A Few April Highlights ICYMI (in case you missed it)
Parkview Bullpups had a blast last week celebrating the final round of their rock, paper, scissors tournament! The students were surprised with a performance from The Milwaukee Flyers Tumbling Team. This was a PBIS reward for our Bullpups for earning a collective 350 paws! Paws are earned by classes being respectful, responsible and safe throughout the school.
Webster is beyond proud to be recognized as a model Professional Learning Community (PLC) at Work® School! Recognized by industry leader Solution Tree, they were awarded for their sustained success in raising student achievement. Since 2014, Webster has implemented numerous systemic changes improving everything from the master schedule to how teacher teams and content areas collaborate to drive improved student outcomes. We celebrate their hard work and continued growth that ultimately improves student learning! Congratulations Webster!
Canceled earlier because of a snow day, Westlawn staff and students had a blast at their first-ever March Madness Basketball game last week!
Thorson's Green Squad is doing a three-week program where students learn how Native Americans tapped trees. Students made their own spiles, tapped 14 maple trees in the school forest, and tasted the sap turned into syrup!.... learning how the process works and why.

A big THANK YOU to retired science teacher Stu Hannam, who helps the green squad run this program!
Nine CHS French Students enjoyed their spring break in Québec City and Montréal. Our students returned home with memories and learning experiences to last a lifetime!
Members of the CHS band took the opportunity to go to New Orleans during spring break! What a fantastic opportunity to experience the Birthplace of Jazz!

What it means to be a Bulldog!
The 180 ̊ Program at Cedarburg High School is about developing a lifelong passion for learning. Fifty-six CHS students were honored at the 11th annual 180 ̊ Awards Program at North Shore Country Club, sponsored by Kapco Enterprises.

This annual event, held this past Wednesday, celebrates our students who have increased their semester grade point average by .75 or more since the previous semester's grade report. Sponsored by Kapco Enterprises, Jim Kacmarcik, Kapco president, spoke before these CHS students and their families on their impressive achievements. We thank the Kacmarcik family and all the supporters, Skip and Amy McConeghy, Duey and Laura Stroebel, and the local UPS Store in Grafton for their donations and all anonymous contributions for making this great event possible!
