Third Sunday of Easter
O God, whose blessed Son made himself known to his disciples in the breaking of bread: Open the eyes of our faith, that we may behold him in all his redeeming work; who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

The Rev. Deacon Frank Condello Ordination
Frank Condello became the Rev. Deacon Frank Condello at Epiphany Episcopal Church in Kaimuki on Wednesday, April 27 – the Feast Day of Zita of Tuscany. Frank is the most recent graduate of Waiolaihui‘ia Center for Ministry, and is on track to be ordained to the priesthood later this year.

From the post-communion prayer: Almighty Father… We thank you for raising up among us faithful servants for the ministry of your Word and Sacraments. We pray that Frank may be to us an effective example in word and action, in love and patience, and in holiness of life. Grant that we, with him, may serve you now, and always rejoice in your glory; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Congratulations Frank!

McPeek Vigil
Monday evening, April 25, clergy and members of local Episcopal congregations joined the crowd for a vigil remembering Michelle Kalena McPeek, tragically and brutally killed on Farrington Highway in Makaha on April 19. Michelle was the daughter of the Rev. Steve McPeek, raised up for ordination by St. Columba’s Pa‘auilo (part of St. James’ Parish) and currently serving a congregation in Germany. Michelle’s son/Steve’s grandson has been arrested for her murder. The Reverends Haaheo Guanson and Kaleo Patterson, on behalf of “Friends and Colleagues of Father Steve McPeek,” planned liturgical and other details with the assistance of Hālau Waʻa musicians. News coverage of the vigil can be found HERE
