Our Eagle Scouts Make The Difference!
When we say Palmetto Bay’s Got Talent…we don’t say that lightly. We're surrounded by talent!

Over the past two weekends, two of our younger Palmetto Bay residents took the lead to implement not just one, but two very special Eagle Scout projects. Tony Santi, Jr. and Benjamin Czerwinski separately organized two projects that will certainly be of benefit to our Village residents. Both young men belong to the Eagle Scout Troop #711.

The Village of Palmetto Bay recognizes their talent and their affection for our community. Here is a bit of information about the two projects.
Helping the American Legion
Eagle Scout Tony Santi, Jr.
Tony Santi, Jr. is currently a Senior at Coral Reef Senior High School and belongs to the Drama magnet.

In his endeavor to help our service men and women, Tony organized a crew of 50 volunteers made up of other scouts and family members. They worked tirelessly for 4 hours, with some family members and friends working even longer, for a total of over 200 hours of volunteer work provided to the American Legion.

At the conclusion of the project, the American Legion had a brand new mini-library (pictured below) and a brand new wooden fence on the north side of the American Legion site. Way to go Tony!
Promoting Fitness for Everyone
Benjamin Czerwinski
The next Eagle Scout Project belongs to Benjamin Czerwinski a Senior at Miami Palmetto Senior High School.

Benjamin kept everything in the family as he followed in his older brother Jason's footsteps and improved the Coral Reef Park Fitness Trail.

He created concrete pillars with markers so that everyone walking or running at Coral Reef Park knows exactly what they're doing. So every time you go past one of these markers at Coral Reef Park, you can thank Benjamin for his Eagle Scout project. We definitely do!
A special thank you to St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church for serving as the chartering sponsor for the Boy Scouts Troop 711 and Cub Scouts Troop 711 for over 25 years!

We are extremely proud of the work they have done and look forward to featuring other scout projects in the Village.
