The City is embarking on its annual budget process and we invite you to participate in the upcoming budget meeting happening this Thursday, April 28 at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers.
San Gabriel is in a positive financial position this year and is continuing its financial recovery process. Though our City is facing some of the same challenges as other Southern California communities, including increased calls for police, fire and emergency medical response, we continue to invest in our aging roads and infrastructure, as well as economic recovery for local businesses. As we begin to start planning next year’s budget (July 2022-June 2023) and explore ways to meet these challenges, we invite you to share your thoughts and ideas.
At the Budget Study Session on April 28, the City Council will hear recommendations from staff and the public, and provide direction to staff members to start shaping next year’s budget.
The revised budget will then be discussed on June 7 at the City Council meeting, which the public is also welcome to attend and share their comments. The proposed budget is reviewed, changes are made if needed, and then finalized.
If you are unable to join us in person, you can email us a public comment at cityclerk@sgch.org to share your recommendations with the City Council during the budget planning process.
