“Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your heavenly Father.”

Matthew 5:16

September 09, 2024

From the Desk of Mr. Marty Van Hulle, Principal

SAL Parents:

As is the norm at SAL, we have a variety of events and activities occurring over the course of the next few weeks. At mass on Wednesday, we celebrate our August and September birthdays and events such as Gold in September (please keep an eye out for Kyler’s Krew order forms coming home today for shirts to support those impacted by childhood cancer), the Book Fair, and KISS Day are fast approaching.

On Friday, October 11, all SAL students and staff will be participating in the Catholic Schools Walk. CSW will take place on and around campus and more detailed information will be forthcoming as plans are finalized. And finally, after a one-year hiatus, Mostaccioli Madness returns. We are hosting an informational meeting next week Wednesday, and again, more detailed information will be made available once specifics are ironed out.

At our morning meeting today, I told the kids how nice it’s been to hear our lunchroom volunteers commenting on their politeness and manners. Our focus this week is on saying “please.” Please join us in continuing to reinforce the incorporation of good manners.

Take care and God Bless,

M. Van Hulle

Principal, SAL

Women in Christ Conference

All women are invited to celebrate the beauty of their Catholic faith at the annual Women of Christ Conference on Saturday, November 16, at the Brookfield Conference Center at 325 S. Moorland Road across from Brookfield Square.

The theme of this year’s conference is: Hail, Full of Grace. Join us as we unpack the astonishing richness of Mary as Virgin, Bride and Mother.

Come for a day of joy and camaraderie and be renewed and fortified in your faith! Take encouragement from dynamic speakers - Dr. Edward Sri, Sr. Mary Rachel Capets, OP,  Fr. Michael Joseph Paris, OCD, Fr. Patrick Magnor, and Mary Magnor as MC. Take part in confession and Adoration and shop the vendor market for the perfect Christmas gifts. The day concludes with Vigil Mass celebrated by Archbishop Jerome Listecki. To register, contact your parish liaison or go to www.womenofchrist.net. Please contact Julie Goyette, parish liaison for the conference, with any questions at 262-343-1349 and/or her e-mail address, juliejeansuperstar@yahoo.com. Additional information regarding the conference can be found here.

Greeters at Sunday Mass

Would your family like to greeters on Sunday Mornings at Church? Greeters play an important part in welcoming parishioners and visitors to Mass each week. Greeters have several important duties before Mass begins. They welcome people into the building, show them where to hang coats, where to find the restrooms and where the childcare room is.

How does your family become Greeters? You will need to contact the Music and Liturgy Office and have your family’s name added to the Greeters Participation Group of MySAL. Once your name is in the Participation Group you can go in at anytime and sign up for the date and Mass time you wish.

If you have any questions, contact Vincent LaTona in the Prayer and Worship Office at 262 691-1173 ex. 1109 or by email at latonav@stanthony.cc.

Scrip

Scrip is one of the easiest ways to raise money for St. Anthony on the Lake AND is a key part of our fundraising activities. Last school year, SCRIP sales totaled $103,791 and resulted in almost $6,800 being donated back to school. This money was used to help support the purchase of curricular resources, for tuition assistance, and classroom supplies.

So how does SCRIP work? You buy either a physical gift card or e-gift card at face value. For each purchase, both you and St. Anthony earns money back. Earnings vary based on the rebate percentage offered by that merchant but range from 1.25% to 22%. Of the rebate earned, 50% goes back to the school and the other 50% is distributed at your discretion to one of the following:

· Credited to your family’s (or another family’s) tuition in the following academic year

· Donated to St. Anthony’s on the Lake School

· Donated to St. Anthony’s on the Lake Choir

· Paid to you as a cash rebate (2024-2025 rebate will be paid in July 2025)

Last year, some individuals earned over $300 in tuition credits and received over $400 in cash rebates!

The easiest way to purchase SCRIP is via the RaiseRight App. The RaiseRight App offers instant e-gift cards from over 1000+ merchants. You can purchase e-giftcards oftentimes in $5 increments while checking out at a store and use it instantly. For a list of merchants available through the app, visit https://www.raiseright.com/brands.

You may also purchase physical gift cards either through the app or using the Scrip To Go Order Form. The gift cards can be sent home with your child at school or picked up in the office.

More information related to SCRIP will go home with your child today. Please make sure to purchase Culver’s gift cards by September 20th and use them at our first Culver’s Night on Tuesday, September 24. Thanks for your support of SAL and SCRIP! Reach out to scrip@stanthony.cc for further questions.
