November 2023 Newsletter

She Leads Symposium @ WashU 2023

Dear Students,

As we near the end of the year and what is surely a busy time for all, I hope you will take advantage of some of the events and opportunities outlined in this newsletter.

In late October, we held the She Leads Symposium @ WashU. The event highlighted the accomplishments of several WashU community members. In conjunction with this year’s event, we were proud to host an adapted 3MT® competition featuring presentations by current graduate and professional students on topics of gender and racial diversity, equity and inclusion.

For our PhD students, I would like to highlight two upcoming opportunities for you to learn more about the Bouchet Graduate Honor Society. I encourage you to register for one of the lunch and learn events where you can learn more about this prestigious Society and the application process. Details are below.

I encourage you to bookmark The Graduate Center website to learn about programming specifically for our graduate and professional students. Additionally, the Center continues to curate content designed to support you and help you discover the many resources here for you.

As always, we welcome your suggestions for additional events and programming and l look forward to hearing from you. I wish you all a happy Thanksgiving, and look forward to seeing you at some of the upcoming events.

Warm regards,

—Vijay K. Ramani, vice provost for graduate education and international affairs
