Student of the Month

Congratulations to the Student of the Month for April, Hunter Ono!

Hunter would like to attend UCCS in Colorado Springs after graduating from CECP in a couple of years and study Music and Art. His goal is to become a musician/ songwriter.

At CECP, Hunter is a member of the Restorative Justice Panel, Interact, Music Club, and Writing Club. For fun, Hunter likes writing and making music, drawing, reading, and collecting action figures. He is an 1980’s aficionado!

Here's what the teachers had to say:

  • Ms. Nordgren, “Hunter is a student who stands out from the crowd because of his warmth, creativity, and kindness. His love of music (especially 80's music) and his efforts to create his own music demonstrate his brilliant imagination and dedication. I can't wait to see Hunter continue to blossom as he tackles the rest of his high school career. We are so lucky to have a student like Hunter at CECP!”
  • Ms. Davila, “Hunter is such a wonderful student. He is so creative, thoughtful, and polite. Such an asset to our school.”
  • Dr. Ono, “Hunter is one of those people who goes after what he wants. When he was in the 7th grade, he decided he was going to be a musician, despite not having ever played a musical instrument. I wasn't sure how this goal would turn out since he couldn't even carry a tune. With determination, he has trained his voice on his own and began learning how to write music. Currently, he is teaching himself the keyboard and music theory. He applies this same determination to his studies. While I have a tendency to procrastinate on my work, he has developed his own routine for finishing his work and keeps working until the work is the best that he can make it.”
  • Ms. Divya, “Hunter Ono is very conscientious and shows excellent effort and care with daily work. Hunter is very pleasant and his presence is such a joy to the class.”

Congratulations to All of Our Students of the Month from this School Year!

For kids who love puzzles, cybersecurity can be an exciting gateway to all the aspects in the world of information safety. ACC’s summer camps are helping students explore how cybersecurity works, get some hands-on foundational skills, and explore career possibilities, all culminating in a Digital Escape Room event on the final day.

Tuition for this Summer Youth Camp is being funded through scholarships provided by a grant from the National Science Foundation. Seats are limited to 15 high school students who are recommended by their school district, on a first come, first serve basis. Seats will fill up fast!
