Advisor Spotlight


Welcome to Emma Lopez and Olivia Lopez, the 2024-2025 Board of Education Student Advisors!


Emma is involved in OLAS, Clarion, Girls Who Code, Cybersecurity Club, and Girl Up. Outside of RB, Emma is involved in Codifica + Code, GirlCon, and iFeminist.


Olivia is the Editor-in-Chief for Clarion, the Director of Communications for National Honors Society, and is involved in OLAS and AST. This past summer, Olivia attended a program for the New York Times, where she learned more journalistic skills.


They look forward to representing the student body at Board meetings and engaging with the RB community.

RB Poms Team Success at Universal Dance Association Camp!


The RB Varsity Poms Team attended the Universal Dance Association Camp at Northern Illinois University! The team took home a variety of awards:


  • 1st Place in the Home Routine Competition in the Small Varsity Division
  • Superior Trophy for Individual Excellence at Evaluations
  • Full Out Award for their Performance Routine
  • 8 girls were awarded All-American Recognition


We are so proud of the team for continuing to grow as a team and individually. We are looking forward to another amazing Poms season!

1st Place Honorable Mention in Writing Contest


Congratulations to senior Hayden Haas, who won a 1st Place Honorable Mention in Rider University’s 43rd Annual Writing Contest for his short story, “The Day that Nothing Happened.” Hayden wrote this story in Ms. Harsy’s Honors Creative Writing class. 

Family Welcome Back Night and Parent Universities


Thank you to all the students and families who came to Family Welcome Back Night! We hope you got to familiarize yourself with the building and learn important information in the Parent University sessions. Freshman Orientation 2024


Freshman Orientation was a huge success! The Class of 2028 reviewed their schedules, asked questions, and went on a guided tour of the building before their first day. Thank you to the Student Association volunteers for all their hard work ensuring the event ran smoothly!

RB Library Receives Reader's Choice Grant


The RB Library received a Lincoln's Readers' Choice Award Grant from AISLE and the Library Book Selection Service (LBSS) Endowment Fund. This grant provides the RB Library with a set of 20 books that are nominated for the 2025 Lincoln Award, or the Illinois Teen Readers' Choice Award. Riverside Brookfield High School is one of fifteen Illinois high schools who received this grant.
