A Message from Mr. Mihalyo

Dear StMM Families,

It’s a great week to be a Monarch at StMM! From First Holy Communion for our second graders to our 8th graders last week at StMM, there is so much to celebrate!

This week marks the end of our 8th graders' education here at StMM, as their last day of classes is this Friday. Their 8th Grade Promotion will take place on Thursday, May 26th. On behalf of the entire faculty, staff, and student body of the Monarch Nation, we send you well wishes, many prayers, and the best of luck in your high school years ahead. Never forget us at StMM and be sure to come back to visit! You always have a home at StMM.

Some of our 2nd graders made their First Communion this past weekend, with the remaining members receiving this sacrament this Saturday. It was a great day for our Monarchs and their families. Congratulations to our Monarchs who made their First Communion this past weekend, and prayers for those receiving this weekend!

This week (weather permitting) marks the return of our Spring Festival! The festival will take place on the upper fields beginning after school on Friday, May 13th. There will be a special carpool pickup for this day only. Please see the information below on how carpool will run on this day. I would ask for your patience and understanding ahead of time as this day will surely be a little more congested. I hope everyone is able to attend and has a great time at the Spring Festival!

Let’s all pray for great weather ahead! I hope to see everyone at the Spring Festival on Friday!

God Bless.

PSO NEWS

Spring Festival - Wristband Order Link Closes TONIGHT

Join us on the upper field Friday, May 13th from 3:00-7:00pm for fun, games, and inflatables. Dunk your favorite teacher in the dunk tank! Feel free to bring water bottles and parents may want to bring lawn chairs. Treats and drinks will be available for purchase; the Knights of Columbus are manning the grills! Please remember that this is not a drop-off event. Children should be accompanied by an adult.

The link to pre-order Spring Festival wristbands closes TONIGHT (Wednesday, May 11th) at 11:00pm. Families who pre-order get a dress down day on Friday, May 13th! Each child who attends needs a wristband ($10/kid), but parents get free admission. Wristbands will be delivered to homerooms on Friday, or will be held at the check in table for new and parish families. You may also purchase a wristband at the check in table on Friday for $12/each (cash only, please). If you do not pre-order or are planning not to attend, please wear your uniform on Friday as usual.

At the close of the evening, we'll have a special send off for our 8th graders since Friday is their last day of school. Please have your 8th grader meet on Cadran Field at 6:30pm. Are you able to lend a hand in cleaning up or volunteering at the event? We'd love to have you join us!  Click here to volunteer. Please contact LeeAnn Nguyen with questions.

Inclement Weather & Parking Details for the Spring Festival

IF the Spring Festival needs to be postponed due to inclement weather on Friday, a Parent Alert will be sent and a notice will be posted on the school's social media pages. A Rain Date will be provided in the event of rain and all pre-ordered wristbands will be honored.

If you are attending the Spring Festival right after school, you may park in the school and church parking lots and walk up to the school building to pick up your children in the space in front of the academic building, and then accompany them to the upper field.  DO NOT announce your arrival on the app as normal.

Children will be seated outside by grade level. Dismissal times will begin as follows:

  • PreK will be in front of the building starting at 2:20
  • Grade levels K-4 will be in front of the building starting at 2:40.
  • Grades 5-8 will be in front of the building starting at 2:55.

Please do not ask your children to walk over to the field unaccompanied and meet you.

If you are not attending the Festival or are coming back later, please use the carpool lines entering off Apex Barbeque Rd into the church lot, as usual, to pick up your children.  Please use your PikMyKid app as usual. Rather than pulling into the carpool loop at the front of the school, however, cars will pick up using the "island side" of the loop to allow room for walk-up families on the school side.

PreK can still use Townside Drive to enter the carpool and should use the middle bay as they do all days if you are not planning to attend the festival. If you are attending the festival, you should park and walk up to pick up your child/ren.

Monarch Masters is Monday, May 16th!

The Monarch Masters is officially SOLD OUT! If you signed up for a single, twosome, or foursome, the person who registered should have received an email from Kevin Machos with all the details regarding food, check in and day-of procedures including the inclement weather plan. Please share it with your group. We'll see you at MacGregor Downs on Monday for the 10:00am shotgun start. Please check in between 8:45-9:45am. Contact Kevin Machos with questions.

PSO Activities Poll

Please welcome Erin Bonasso, who will serve as PSO President for the next two years. Erin has been involved as a room parent, with planning the last two Monarch Mondays campaigns, and as a coordinator for the Back to School Picnic. She'll do a great job, but she needs your help - what events would you and your family like to see at school next year?  Please fill out this Activities Poll, and feel free to write in suggestions at the bottom!

Thank you!

The PSO sends a special thank you to all the families who contributed to Teacher Appreciation Week last week. The homemade meals were a thoughtful way to show our staff that they are loved. Thanks especially go out to the Teacher Appreciation committee for all their hard work and the intricate planning that went into a school-wide dinner extravaganza, not to mention all the other treats they had for the staff that week.
