Return to Common Cup

  • Return to the Common Cup - Beginning on Maundy Thursday, 14 April, we will return to offering wine and grape juice using the Common Cup. There will be no intinction (dipping into the cup). Please remember that if you wish not to receive wine, receiving Bread only imparts the full benefit of the Sacrament.

  • Masks are now optional for Church services with the strong recommendation for people to continue to wear masks based on preference, informed by personal level of risk and if they are unvaccinated.

  • If you are visiting the Education Wing Monday through Friday during Trinity Academy school hours, we ask that you wear a mask. Trinity Academy will continue universal masking until the end of the school year in June.

  • We will continue to wear masks in the office in all common areas, and those who have private offices may request visitors to wear masks. Please be respectful of staff wishes.

As a reminder, there are various levels of comfort in our community with masking, handshakes, and hugging, so please be respectful of others whose decisions differ from your own.

Thank you for your continued cooperation and flexibility. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to Rev. D. or a member of the Vestry.

Church by the Pond on Saturday, 16 April
Trinity's next opportunity to participate in this ministry led by Christ Church Cathedral is Saturday, April 16 - Holy Saturday.
  • We'll meet in the Trinity kitchen at 12:45 to prepare bag lunches, entering though the outside door to the kitchen.
  • At 1:45 we'll bring those lunches to Bushnell Park, where we'll participate in the worship service by the pond, led by Rev. D.
  • We'll distribute our lunches and personal care items following the service, and finish around 3:00.

All parishioners and families are welcome. Volunteers will observe the mask and social distancing protocols in effect at the time for in-person worship.

Please contact me if you have any questions, or to let me know that you are planning to participate.

An Easter Egg Hunt for the children

Lenten Giving Opportunity
To Benefit College Students
Thank you!

To everyone who was able to participate in purchasing personal care items during Lent to benefit the Capital Community College (CCC) Food Pantry - thank you! What a generous outpouring of support for these students, yet another example of our Faith in Action!

(Please note: if you were planning to deliver your items in-person to the Cathedral, the drop-off timetable has been moved out a week, and is now: Wednesday 4/27 to Friday 4/29, from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m; Sunday 5/1 from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.)
Tricycles needed for Afghan family!

Trinity's Refugee Committee is deeply grateful for the 3 bicycles donated by generous parishioners. So we have now collected for the Dadwall family a bicycle for the dad and kid-sized bikes for Abna and Abdul, the two older children. But we still need tricycles for Amjad and Mohammad, 2- and 3-y/o.

If you have or know someone who has a used tricycle in good condition, please contact Anne Rapkin, 860-521-5992, anne.rapkin@gmail.com.
ADULT CHRISTIAN FORMATION
SAVE THE DATE - April 24,2022

During the past two pandemic years, Trinity Academy has been “up and running.” There is much in the news these days about how students in all grades have lost ground. Not so at Trinity Academy!

Join us on April 24 following the 10 o’clock service to hear an update from Trinity Academy Principal Allison Bernhard. She will tell us how things have been going with the students and the staff. She will share the most recent test results for our kids, and tell us about recruitment efforts to fill next year’s roster of students.
This forum will be on Zoom. We will begin at 11:30 and end no later than 12:30.
Join us for
Concert for the Human Family, presented by The Episcopal Church
Sunday April 24, 3 PM | Christ Church Cathedral, Hartford
More information can be found here.
Special Prayer Request

A member of our parish, Jacqui Lucier has advanced kidney disease and is in need of a transplant.

As we pray for Jacqui, we also ask that you prayerfully consider being screened as a potential kidney donor. For more information about living organ donation and to sign up to be screened, please visit nkr.org/SBB483. Please encourage your friends and family to consider donor screening.

To hear Jacqui talk about her illness and need for a transplant, watch this clip that has aired on local news.
Recording of April 3 ACF Forum
now available for viewing

The April 3 Zoom forum about organ transplants was recorded and is now available for you to view, following this link: Trinityhartford.org/acforgandonation. The forum was informative, and included personal stories from organ donors and transplant recipients. A speaker from New England Donate Life, himself the recipient of a heart transplant, provided facts that dispelled some common myths about organ transplants. The forum explained the matching and transplant process in some detail.

In a quick moment, the topic of organ transplants has gone from an abstract idea to a deeply personal one for us at Trinity, as we have been asked to pray for our beloved Jacqui Lucier, who needs a kidney. We have also been asked to consider being screened as a potential donor. If you weren’t able to attend the forum, please take some time to watch the zoom recording.
