How to Have a Great Yard Sale in MoVal
Spring is here, and residents across Moreno Valley are getting a jump start on Spring cleaning.

As you plan your next yard sale, remember: signs are not allowed to be posted on City infrastructure, including sidewalks, streets, light poles, traffic signals, and traffic signs. Paper signs taped to City infrastructure are not only a code violation, but they can lead to litter along our streets, and pose a fire hazard.

There are many effective ways to advertise your next yard sale, including placing a temporary sign on private property with the owner's permission, placing an ad in a local paper, or advertising on social media.

Celebrate Mother Nature at the Community Demonstration Garden Earth Day Tree Giveaway
Earth Day is right around the corner!

Celebrate the planet by stopping by the Community Demonstration Garden on Friday, April 22, from 2 to 5 p.m. as we give out free saplings to Moreno Valley residents, courtesy of the Neighborhood Forest Program.

The Earth Day celebration will also feature resource booths, exciting table games, and fun youth crafts. You can even "adopt" a new tree and get additional information on local and county environmental programs.

Start your journey to sustainability! The Community Demonstration Garden is located at 14075 Frederick Street, behind the Conference & Recreation Center. Visit movalparks.org for more information.
Learn About Sustainability at the Community Demonstration Garden Open House
The Community Demonstration Garden will open its gates to the public for an open house!

This exciting event and resource fair will take place on Saturday, April 30, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Stop by to learn about local programs and businesses related to gardening, landscaping, ecology, and recycling.

Opened in February, the Community Demonstration Garden is a one-stop-shop for all your sustainability needs. The Demo Garden allows residents to learn about practices such as composting, planting seasonably-appropriate fruit trees, creating seedling racks, and more!

Pet of the Week: Tilly
Our Pet of the Week is Tilly, an adorable three-year-old Boxer/Boston Terrier mix. With a square-shaped head, short snout, and beautiful brown eyes, Tilly is as cute as they come. Tilly loves to run and play, but she truly loves getting her belly rubbed while she rolls in the grass. Tilly is looking for her forever home where she can be loved and get all the belly rubs her heart desires. And best of all, Tilly is already spayed, so she can go home the day you adopt her!

If you would like to make Tilly or any pet from the Moreno Valley Animal Shelter part of your family, please contact the Moreno Valley Animal Shelter at 951.413.3790 or visit www.moval.org/pets.
