Every year for the last quarter century, Tahoe Forest Stewardship Day has provided the venue for anyone to restore the Basin’s magical but threatened ecosystem.

On September 24, 100 people laced up their boots, pulled on their gloves, and went to work repairing and revitalizing Lake Tahoe’s environment.
On the south shore, forests, meadows, and trails that were damaged by wildfire, threatened by climate change, and squeezed by Tahoe’s millions of annual visitors got a good, old-fashioned, restorative make-over – thanks to a passionate group of residents and visitors.

Thanks to all who:

  • planted native seeds to restore fire breaks,
  • maintained popular mountain biking trails,
  • protected meadows from climate change,
  • kept a treasured historical site fire-safe, and
  • came out with that heart-warming, #TahoeBlueGooder attitude.
People like you are why the League is able to celebrate this 25-year tradition of forest restoration. If you needed a sign to get involved, this is it! Go to keeptahoeblue.org/join-us to see your menu.
