Friends,

This week the team at Visit Saint Paul published the 2023 Insider's Guide. I'd encourage everyone to take a look. It's amazing how easy it can be to take for granted or forget about all of the amazing people, places and stories right here in Saint Paul. The theme of this year's guide is Local/Global and it is full of inspiration for how to feel like a tourist in your own backyard.

During a conversation we had earlier this week, Public Works Director Sean Kershaw asked me to remind folks that while their team is working hard to fill them, they could still use your help reporting potholes as you encounter them. The easiest way to do so is to email potholes@stpaul.gov with location details. You can also call 651-266-9700 to submit information.

Keep reading for some additional announcements from the City this week including the new plans for Pedro Park and information on creating more outdoor dining opportunities, as well as details on how to check out “The Revolutionists” which opens this weekend at Park Square Theatre.

Have a great weekend.

-Joe

p.s. Go Wild! Good luck against Vegas this week!

With site demolition imminent, new Pedro Park design unveiled

A landscape architect with Saint Paul Parks and Recreation announced on Monday the department has completed the design process for the updated Pedro Park plan and published the final graphics for the long-term vision.

Saint Paul to invite bars and restaurants to a 'SAC' lottery

The City of Saint Paul is inviting restaurants, bars, breweries and micro-distilleries to participate in one of the most unusual lotteries around - a proverbial roll of the dice for a "SAC" credit. When a business expands, the Metropolitan Council, the metro's regional planning agency, requires municipalities to pay a one-time "sewer availability charge" to cover the added cost to wastewater maintenance and infrastructure.

Park Square hosts 'The Revolutionists'

Set during the French Revolution, Lauren Gunderson's play marries execution and comedy.

Spoiler alert: The women in "The Revolutionists" get their heads lopped off. But to hear director Shelli Place tell it, there's riotous humor to be had between the sharp delivery of their lines and the falling of the guillotine blade.
