Welcome back to our journey! We are walking through some of the scripture and themes that will be explored at Kirchenwald, Nawakwa, HC Spirit and Wittel Farm this summer.
“Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of God’s household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone.” Ephesians 2:19-20
I remember when I was a kid there was always this one house in the neighborhood where everyone was welcome; there was always snacks and soda, and you could drop by and play in the yard or on their basketball goal or badminton net even if their own kids weren’t home. It was a neighborhood home for all the kids. There was welcome beyond measure!
This is God’s home, too – a place where all are welcome. Campers will explore the unity and welcome that humanity, as a whole and each individual, can experience through Christ. God’s power is at work in humanity and welcomes all regardless of all the human labels that we can come up with to divide us. Building on Christ as the cornerstone, the ancient shaper of the building, we all come together and are harmonized in Christ.
Discussion Starter – How does it feel to be left out? What would it look like for you to show this “everybody welcome,” “everybody included” spirit? How does your church welcome all beyond measure?
