Dear Parents,
Although this was a short week, it was jam packed with summer fun and learning. Not only are our older kids participating in STEM activities (Please see their class letters for more details), they are also doing so many great art projects and about 30 minutes daily of academic enrichment.
This week our attendance numbers were a little low as some families went away for vacation. I hope you had a great July 4th with your family and we look forward to those families returning next week.
The big excitement of the week is the arrival and weekend installation of our new $18,000 in shade structures made possible with a $20,000 playground grant from the everso generous Early Learning Coalition of Miami Dade Monroe. We had to close a portion of our playgrounds some Thursday and others Friday, but I know it will be worth it come Monday when we have 60 feet of additional shade. Stay tuned for photos.
This week we also welcomed 13 high school interns as part of the Miami Dade Schools Summer internship program. You may see photos of these young adults working with your child. Please know there are very strict guidelines with this program. Student interns are never left alone with children. They are also NOT permitted to enter the bathroom areas. It is great for the teachers to have an extra hand. They are also believe it or not helping us get ready for back to school.
Have a Wonderful Weekend!
