Summer Struggles!

“I’m bored.” The dreaded and inevitable words most parents hear at some point during the summer break.  As a lifelong educator myself, I actually had to work most summers, and that brought about the stress of balancing the obligations for my employment, and giving much needed time for connecting with my son and family.  I understand your plight!

For many working families, summer time isn’t always full of pool parties, trips to the playground or amusement park, and endless playdates.

Children have a lot of free time on their hands and it can be overwhelming for parents to maintain their day-to-day activities, plan for meals, and figure out how to work as well.

So how can parents keep their children structured, organized and active in the summer months?  Well, take a look at this article from Very Well Family for some great ideas and tips for planning and addressing all the needs of your children this summer.  Without question, the challenges we all face are evident, but perhaps there are a few ideas contained in this article to help manage the summer months a little better for all of us.  In next month’s newsletter, I will provide you with some tips and ideas for summer learning opportunities for those of you who might be interested.
