Summer Classes

Registration is now open for RVCC’s summer classes with sessions beginning May 23, June 13, and July 11. Summer is a great opportunity for college students to earn extra credits and save money and for high school juniors and seniors to jumpstart their college education.

Career Nights at RVCC

Prospective students and members of the public interested in learning about various occupations and career and educational paths are invited to attend RVCC’s Careers Nights in April. The programs are free of charge and will be held at the College’s Branchburg campus.

The Career Nights will be held from 6-8 p.m. and will include information about the College’s academic programs in the featured disciplines. The following events have been scheduled:

  • April 14: Math & Computer Science
  • April 26: Health Science
  • April 27: Criminal Justice, Paralegal and Business
Information Sessions

RVCC is holding both in-person and virtual Information Sessions in April, including special sessions focusing on Paying for College, the Honors College, Beauty Professions programs, and the Medical Laboratory Technology program.
RVCC to Lead Statewide Workforce Initiative

RVCC has been awarded $20,000 from the New Jersey Community College Consortium for Workforce and Economic Development to plan for the College’s participation in the New Jersey Pathways to Career Opportunities initiative. RVCC’s role in the NJ Pathways initiative includes acting as the lead community college for the Center of Workforce Innovation in Advanced Manufacturing and as a community partner for the Center of Workforce Innovation in Cybersecurity.
OSHE Grants Expand Educational Opportunities

RVCC has received two generous Opportunity Meets Innovation Challenge Grants from the Office of the Secretary of Higher Education (OSHE) that offer expanded educational opportunities for students. The grants together total over $983,000.
Professor Wins Award for Microbiology Digital Lab Manual

Dr. Derek Weber, RVCC Professor of Biology and Microbiology, is the winner of this year’s “Top Author Award” by Top Hat, an active learning platform used by colleges and universities. Weber is being honored for his work creating an affordable, clinically relevant, digital lab manual in microbiology.
Honors College Student Receives National Recognition

RVCC Honors College student Yash Goyal has been named a national Newman Civic Fellow by Campus Compact. The Newman Civic Fellowship recognizes students who stand out for their commitment to creating positive change in communities locally and around the world.
CEM-Tech Program Provides Manufacturer-Specific Training, Hiring Success

Students in RVCC’s Commercial Energy Management Technology (CEM-Tech) program are engaged in state-of-the-art, manufacturer-specific training focusing on software and hardware technology-building skills in Building Automation, Energy Auditing and Building Commissioning.
Arts at RVCC

The arts are thriving this spring at RVCC. Arts & Design department faculty and students are participating in a number of current and upcoming shows, concerts, and other presentations.
Planetarium
Field Trips, Private Shows

The RVCC Planetarium offers in-person field trips and private shows for groups of 1-100 people. Planetarium shows run 45-60 minutes. Groups also may participate in a scavenger hunt (about 10-20 minutes), which can be tailored to any age group and may be done before or after a show. The Planetarium also offers a small exhibit area and a gift shop that sells books, Astronaut ice cream, and other items. Presentations cost $200 for up to 20 people; the cost for additional guests is $10 per person.

The Planetarium also offers virtual field trips at a cost of $100 per group.
