Rabbi Green writes: "Light and dark, order and chaos. Happiness and Sadness. Our world has only ever existed with contradictions and opposites. Most we live with and take for granted. The school year and summer break. The work week and the weekend. Of course, in Judaism, we declaratively state these separate moments as distinct." Read more in The Green Blog

AYA wins!
Congratulations to the AYA Team's big wins at the Dallas Kosher Chili Cook-Off! Taking home the 1st place trophy in the Vegetarian category and a nod from the judges that AYA served the BEST OVERALL chili made this beautiful day of community fun and fellowship all the more delicious.
Much thanks to our fantastic Head Chef, Keggan Luskey, and the entire team: Alan Block, Andi Bonner, Laura Burstein, Chris Gorycki, Donna Hutcheson, Marcy Kramer Kahn, Piper Luskey, Helene Schussler, Allyn Schmucker, David Yalovsky, and our ever-helpful bnot sherut, Noa and Liav.

Special thanks to Nichole Gambulos for creating our beautiful AYA aprons!
Ukraine Relief: Thank you to everyone who took a moment at our tables to write notes of love and encouragement for Ukrainian orphans now safe in Israel. Congregation Tiferet Israel also donated $400 of Cook-Off raffle proceeds to support Ukrainian refugees. Our own Julie Averbuch (pictured above, center) will personally deliver the money and cards to Israel.
