Shop 4-H – Arkansas Collection

We are very excited to announce that Arkansas 4-H now has its own state collection on the Shop 4-H website! You can find all kinds of AR branded t-shirts, sweatshirts, corduroy jackets, bags, and so much more. Use the Arkansas affiliated link which gives a percentage back to our program!

2022 4-H Poster Art Contest


The Poster Art contest is back and we would love for your 4-H'ers to participate! Posters and document should be submitted by May 6. The rules and guidelines are below:

 

·   This contest is open to all 4-H members ages 9-19.

·   Themes are: Cloverdrive or Open theme (create a 4-H theme and poster to go with it)

·   Posters can be horizontal or vertical and can be created using any of the following mediums: ink, crayon, acrylic, charcoal, colored pencil, collage or digital. Posters should only contain original creations. Please refrain from using any copyrighted material. 

Posters must be submitted digitally.

Club Leaders and Volunteers Needed!


Are you interested in volunteering your time and talents to help impact our youth? . For more information, please contact Tristin at tbolton@uada.edu


We are also recruiting volunteers within the clubs! Some of the volunteer opportunities at the club level include:

  • Project Leader- coordinates efforts in one project.
  • Educational Activity Leader- coordinates educational activities of the club.
  • Community Service Leader- coordinates community service activities of the club.
  • Resource/Support Volunteer- shares a specific skill or resource with the club on a short term basis. 

Recipe of the Month!

BBQ Sweet Potato Nachos 


4 Servings

300 Calories per serving


Ingredients

  •  2 sweet potatoes (long and evenly round is ideal), washed and sliced into ¼ inch rounds
  •  2 tablespoons olive oil
  •  ½ teaspoon salt
  •  ½ teaspoon pepper
  •  ½ red onion, diced
  •  1 (15 ounce) can black beans, drained and rinsed
  •  ½ bell pepper, diced
  •  ½ avocado, pit removed and diced (optional)
  •  Dressing:
  •  1 ½ teaspoons lemon juice
  •  ½ cup plain Greek yogurt
  •  1 ½ tablespoons barbeque sauce
  •  ½ teaspoon chili powder


Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.
  2. Spread sweet potato rounds on a large sheet pan and toss with olive oil, salt and pepper.
  3. Roast potatoes for 10-15 minutes, toss and continue roasting for another
  4. 10-15 minutes. Meanwhile, combine ingredients for dressing in small bowl.
  5. Remove sweet potatoes from oven. Sprinkle onion, black beans, bell pepper and avocado (if using) over the sweet potatoes and let cool.
  6. Drizzle with dressing or use dressing to dip.
