A Message from Our President
|
|
Assalamu Alaikum,
Let me start by expressing my immense gratitude to Allah (the One worthy of Highest Praise) for making the Annual Banquet a great success and to the community for their unwavering support and generosity. It was our first large-scale in-person event since the onset of the pandemic and was also live-streamed. It was heartening to see a sold-out, full house flowing with love and warmth. The event included moments of serious purpose, lively and entertaining.
Our Ramadan Fundraising Target was $1.5M of which $750K would be used to pay off the remaining loan on the original purchase of our Redmond property. With Allah SWT's mercy, we reached $1M at the event with the generous support of those who attended the Banquet and the community. We are ever thankful to the community for their continued unwavering support.
During the fundraiser, I highlighted our key accomplishments across the 3 core areas - Faith, Services, and Advocacy/Outreach. The launch of MAPS Seattle was the capstone of our efforts which will extend our reach and services to the Seattle Downtown Muslim Community of young professionals and community members that is currently not served by a Muslim Institution. MAPS Seattle will encompass the entire spectrum of MAPS vision including all our 3 core areas of Faith, Services, and Advocacy.
Please enjoy the sights and sounds of Saturday’s Banquet which we have included below.
If you did not have a chance to attend, please consider donating to your masjid (mosque) now. You have one final opportunity to contribute to the original construction of the mosque (as we pay off the loan) and gain all the rewards of being the vanguards of establishing this masjid (mosque) and creating a lasting legacy. May Allah (the most generous) reward you for your generosity.
JazakAllah for your continued support!
Hyder Ali

We are inshAllah planning to be back to normal (post-pandemic) this Ramadan. This means daily iftar, daily taraweeh prayers, and suhoor during the last ten days of the month. Like most events and activities at MAPS, these activities are only possible because of dedicated and committed volunteers. Thank you for your interest in volunteering and for making an impact on the community.
Please sign-up below and add it to your calendar.
The sign-ups are for adults and youth above 15 yrs old. Less than 15-year-olds are encouraged to volunteer under the supervision of an adult, with the adult signing up at the link provided.

As we move into our new normal following the past two years, MAPS is once again planning singles Iftars on weekdays and community Iftars on weekends (Fri/Sat) during the blessed month of Ramadan 2022, insha'Allah. The cost of Iftar is $15 per plate.
MAPS will additionally sponsor up to $30,000 for Iftar at the Ethiopian Muslims Association of Seattle (EMAS) and the Muslim American Youth Foundation (MAYF) of Seattle. These are neighboring communities that are in need and sponsorship will benefit them immensely.
If you’re interested in sponsoring Iftar at MAPS or the Seattle communities, please sign up and make your donation at the following links:
A QR Code for Iftar signup will also be posted throughout the masjid.
If you plan on sponsoring Iftar for a day and want to make special arrangements, please contact manager@mapsredmond.org.
May Allah SWT accept our fasting and prayers and reward us immensely during this blessed month.
