This is an update regarding the Colorado Sex Offender Management Board’s work on the Standards and Guidelines for the Assessment, Evaluation, Treatment, and Behavioral Monitoring of Adult Sex Offenders and the Assessment, Treatment, and Supervision of Juveniles Who Have Committed Sexual Offenses.

Action Items and Solicitation for Public Comment:

The Board reviewed the following Action Items during the March Board Meeting and voted to release them for public comment.  

  • Adult and Juvenile Standards Revisions
  • Section 2: Timeframes for Evaluations
  • 2.110 in the Juvenile Standards, 2.115 in the Adult Standards

Public Comment will open on Monday, March 27th, 2023. It will remain open for 14 days and close on April 9th. All public comments will be redacted and reviewed by the Adult and Juvenile Standards Revisions.

BOARD MEETING AGENDA ITEMS:

  • Training Presentation by Dr. Libby Stuyt. “The Negative Impacts of High Potency THC on Community and Victim Safety: This is NOT Medicine.” Training credit was awarded to attendees.

  • The SOMB Annual Legislative Report was presented by Staff Researcher, Dr. Rachael Collie. To view this report, click here.
  • Statistical Analyst, Dr. Yuanting Zhang presented a 3 Year Review of the SOMB Data Collection process.

ANNOUNCEMENTS, CHANGES, OR IMPORTANT UPDATES:

  • The SOMB Staff conducted training on the new Approved Provider Applications and Renewals process.  This recording is available on the provider training hub. All providers are required to complete this training.
  • PAPER APPLICATIONS ARE NO LONGER BEING ACCEPTED! ALL Renewal and Move Up applications will be entered in the Provider Data Management System (PDMS).
  • All new providers must request an account here. Existing providers will use the same login for data entry.
