  • I2D2 was recently featured in a case study sponsored by the Administration for Children and Families as part of a national effort to advance the use of administrative data for program evaluation and cross-systems improvement. The report includes lessons learned and recommendations from I2D2 development, from a collection of interviews with current and former members of I2D2’s founding task force. This report is being shared widely by federal partners as an example of “best practices” in the development and use of integrated data systems. Read the report HERE

  • Congratulations to I2D2 Graduate Research Assistant, Jessica Bruning! Jessica recently defended her Master's thesis and will be joining the I2D2 team full time as our new Evaluation and Communications Specialist.

Brief: Supporting Families Through Coordinated Services Partnerships This brief describes findings from telephone interviews which were conducted in order to gain information about how coordinated service approaches serve children and families. Topics discussed include information about the development of the coordinated services approach, the partners and funding involved in coordination, the services included in the coordinated services approach, and the coordinated services approach’s use of data.

Fostering coordinated service partnerships can help states lay the groundwork for integrated data systems work as they build trust and understand the value of sharing data to improve programs for children and families.

Extending Postpartum Medicaid Coverage: State Pathways and Policy Impacts In response to the concern over rising pregnancy-related mortality and morbidity across the United States, this brief discusses the extension of postpartum coverage of Medicaid for 12 months after birth.

Using an integrated data approach to this type of work could allow for a better understanding of the current impact of ending coverage after 60 days or longitudinal examination of child development and family outcomes following expansion of coverage.

"What about the dads?" Linking fathers and children in administrative data: a systematic scoping review This paper proposes a conceptual model of dimensions of fatherhood, identifies and categorizes methods used for linking fathers with their children in administrative data, and maps those methods onto the dimensions of fatherhood.
