I-70 Ramp Improvements Update

The Town of Bennett is currently working with CDOT on the I-70 and State Highway 79 Off-Ramp project. This project includes the repair and realignment of the I-70 Eastbound off-ramp, ramp improvements and installation of traffic signals to increase safety and efficiency for the traveling public.

Surveying work and right of way activities began on June 12, 2023. The anticipated construction phase of this project will begin on July 5, 2023 and work is expected to continue through September 2023. Working hours are 7:00am to 7:00pm Monday through Friday.

Traffic congestion and delays are anticipated, as the road may need to be closed periodically during construction. Alternative routes are strongly encouraged.

Alternate routes to Bennett include:

Manila Road - Exit 299, then head north to SH36 and turn right (east)

Kiowa Bennett Road - Exit 305

Strasburg - Exit 310 (for those traveling eastbound on I-70)

Funding for this project comes partially from the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) and subregional funding.

If you have questions, please email [email protected] or call 720-572-4476.

We will continue to provide project updates on our website.

2023 Bennett Days - Sponsors Needed

Planning is underway for Bennett Days 2023! Our theme this year is 'Play on the Plains!' and we are looking for sponsors to be a part of this great event.

Bennett Days is September 9, 2023. This has always been a free event to the community and in order to keep it free, we need your help! We highly encourage all businesses, non-profits and stakeholders in the I-70 Corridor region to be involved to help increase recognition and promote our community as a whole.

If you want to sponsor, provide swag for our giveaway bags or would prefer to give back to our community in another way, we would love to hear what you have in mind. Donations big and small are welcome.

If you have questions, please feel free to contact Danette Ruvalcaba at (303) 644-3249 ext. 1021 or [email protected].

Call For Flood Photos

Bennett and the surrounding area has had a remarkably wet spring. The Town is collecting photo data of any notable flooding areas for integration with our Stormwater long range planning.

If you have photos of Bennett and the nearby area from the May 11 storm or from any other flooding this spring, please send them to [email protected].

Photos will be available for public viewing and must have metadata (date and location) in order to be included in the data set.

Mosquito Treatment and Reminders

Did You Know?

Areas of standing water are a breeding ground for mosquitos. If you have standing water on your property, stop by Town Hall to pick up a free Mosquito Dunk.

A Mosquito Dunk floats on the standing water and is a safe, nontoxic way to control mosquitoes. Additionally, over the summer, Mosquito Authority will be spraying areas in Town on a regular basis.

Get to Know Our Team

Say hello to our Community Development Manager, Savannah!

Savannah is an awesome team member who radiates positivity! She is always willing to lend a hand, and she is enthusiastic about our community.

Where are you from?

I grew up in Parker, Colorado and I now live in Bennett.

How long have you worked for the Town?

I have been with the Town for 2 years.

What do you do for the Town?

I'm our Community Development Manager. I manage our Building Department and the infrastructure work that comes before new buildings.

What would you like to share with the community?

I love living in our walkable community. Seeing how trails, parks and public spaces get planned out is one of my favorite parts of this job.

Think Before You Flush

Did you know that many products claiming to be flushable are not really flushable? These types of products can wreak havoc on waste systems, causing sewage back-ups.

Other things that are not flushable and can cause clogged pipes include grease from melted fat, clothing, paper towels, cat litter, diapers and personal hygiene products. Drano can also be very hard on your pipes.

Please be cautious and conscientious of what you are putting down your drain. When in doubt, throw it out!

Plastic Bottle Caps Needed

The Bennett Arts Council needs your help! Please bring us your plastic bottle caps.

We will be collecting bottle caps all summer at Town Hall and at special events. Participate and picture your donation as part of a Bennett art project!

We need to collect over 1000 bottle caps, so your help is appreciated.

More information on the Bennett Arts Council, including upcoming events, can be found online here.
