Meher Baba
At Meher Center, 1956
Dear Meher Center Family and Friends,

A loving Jai Baba to you. As we announced last week, we are holding a virtual Meher Baba’s birthday celebration February 25 and 26.

Friday evening will include a talk by Charles Haynes and Wendy Connor, brother and sister who met Baba in 1958 and 1962. That evening we will also have music by Adrienne Shamszad. Saturday afternoon will feature a short talk by board member Anna Lena Phillips Bell who was born into a Baba family and grew up visiting Meher Center. There will also be opportunities for conversation between participants.

We hope to see you then. Please click here to register for the gathering.

In Baba’s love and service,

Lovers' Offerings
Family Letters #16
Read by Bob Mossman
7:46

These are readings of a collection of letters written by Mani, Meher Baba’s sister, to the Western family of Baba lovers between 1956 and 1969.
"He held me so tight, I lost consciousness"
A. S. Jaganath shares the story of his reluctance to meet Meher Baba and how his life changed when he first met Him. Being Hindu, he had previously met many holy men but had kept his physical distance from them. However, when he saw Baba, Baba held him so tight that he could not breathe and went into a trance. Tears soaked his shirt when he rose. Instantly he knew that Baba was God. Then, he talks about a visit to Guruprasad on a stretcher to see Baba who placed his leg upon Jaganath's chest. In the latter part of this talk, we hear anecdotes about Baba's humor, His sahavas and the love borne from the repetition of His name.

"Let your life be My message of love and truth"
Kitty Davy was a cheerful, bustling, ever-available fixture at Meher Center from 1952 to her death in 1991. She first met Meher Baba in England in 1931 and lived with Him in India for years before He asked her to stay at the Center. In Part One of this talk, Kitty speaks about her early life with Baba, hitting on some of the qualities that He instilled so deeply in those around Him: service, cheerfulness, harmony, and love.
