Lots of Deadlines!!

 I usually try to keep these monthly club updates separate from updates about Nationals. But this time of year, a LOT of the business of the club IS the upcoming National Specialty, so this month it’s going to be a mix….

PLEASE PAY YOUR DUES NOW TO BE FIRST IN ON VOTING!!

The BHCA Ballot for next year’s Board and for the 2025 National Specialty Judges’ Panel will go live on Simply Voting on July 31. By paying your dues before July 31, you’ll receive a link to your electronic ballot as soon as the election opens!

If you pay after July 31, you’ll receive a ballot link via email once they are received. If you pay on a Friday, you may not see the link in your email until Monday, but it will be coming. Please check your spam filter if you are expecting your ballot but haven’t seen it within a couple of days after July 31 or whenever you pay your dues.

National Specialties: Another reminder that we currently have no bids for Nationals in 2027! If you’re interested in organizing the 2027 Nationals, please send a letter of intent to Corresponding Secretary Marianne Lovejoy.

If you are interested in what’s involved, please reach out to Bev Barringer-Ruggeri, Chair of the Nationals Advisory Committee, and she will fill you in!

We’re still looking for a Club Historian! Please reach out if you have any interest – there’s a lot of amazing history in our scanned documents (and find out they gossiped just as much as we do – there’s some juicy stuff there!).

.....And speaking of club positions, BHCA has over 30 committees/committee chairs. You can find the full list here: https://basset-bhca.org/about-bhca/committees-volunteers/.

Take a minute to cruise through the list and see if there’s anything that sparks your interest. If there is, reach out to a Board member. The Board makes Committee Chair appointments at its meeting the day after Nationals. This is a great time to let us know you’d like to be more involved in the club!
