Town Hall: Building & Development
The community is invited to a special four-part town hall series beginning next week designed to give residents and businesses a chance to get additional information about what's going on in the City of Lakeway, ask questions to staff, and provide feedback. The first town hall will take place next Thursday, Feb. 17 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Lakeway City Hall located at 1102 Lohmans Crossing Road.

This town hall will focus on building and development services, and will include information on the City development process, new home and commercial permits, and give an overview of some ongoing and planned developments. Lakeway City Manager Julie Oakley will lead the presentation, and additional staff from Code Compliance, Permitting, Building Inspection, Planning and Environmental services will be on hand to answer individual questions from attendees. The town hall will also be live streamed on the city's website.

If you have a question or questions you would like addressed, email those in beforehand to [email protected]. CLICK HERE for additional information.
Super Bowl Safety Tips
There are plenty of sporting events like the Winter Olympics to keep you occupied through the weekend, along with one of the biggest sporting events of the year, The Super Bowl. Here are some simple tips to keep you and any potential guests you may have over safe this weekend:

FOOD SAFETY:
As the U.S Department of Agriculture (USDA) puts it, "Don't Fumble Food Safety on Super Bowl Sunday." Perishables, such as chicken wings, deli wraps and meatball appetizers, along with cut fruit and vegetable platters can only be left out for two hours before they become at risk of bacteria contamination, according to the USDA. TRAVEL:
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is teaming up with State and local highway traffic safety organizations and advocates to remind football enthusiasts that "Fans Don't Let Fans Drive Drunk." If your evening will involve alcohol outside your home, plan for a sober ride home. If you're hosting a party, take care of your guests. Whichever team you plan to support this weekend, be sure to plan ahead so that everyone's game day is not only fun, but also a safe experience.
