Weekly eNews
Dear St. Giles Families,

While the weather may not have us thinking about summer activities, it’ll be here before we know it! We have a variety of activities and camps available for all age groups this summer–be sure to check out our catalog to keep your Lions busy. Camps range from Kids Klub to athletics to art to chess and math! Camp is available for our littlest Lions, too (this camp is always a fan favorite!). Our camps are available for a full day or a la carte to fit your schedule. Check out all of the offerings and secure your spot before they fill up!

As we move through Lent and approach Holy Week, we will provide the opportunity for our Lions in grades 3-8 to participate in Reconciliation. Both this week and next week Fr. Carl and Fr. Tom will be available for our students. We are so proud of our Lions who have been participating in the 40 Acts of Kindness and have them displayed throughout the buildings. It’s not too late for your family to get involved!

I would like to thank everyone again for a wonderful night of Black & Gold last weekend. Thanks to your generosity and spirit we were able to surpass our goal and have raised over $115,000!  I hope you all saw the special eNews with the wrap-up and details on Friday. There are still a few items available for purchase (like Out of Uniform passes), so take a peek at the Handbid app one last time. Cheers to an awesome night and our amazing community!

Stay safe and well,
Meg

Empower Illinois Program Call to Action - We need your help!
Improvements to the Empower Illinois Scholarship program have passed the Illinois House! Now the bill is to the Senate and here is where you come in. This Phone2Action link encourages supporters to contact their legislators to let them know you support this cause. Please consider reaching out to show your support. We have many scholarship recipients at St. Giles School who rely on this program to have a quality education and might not be able to attend without this assistance. This Phone2Action link is a quick and easy way to show your support!
Podcasting Club Registration Now Open for Spring!

From Ms. Collins: "Students will create and publish original podcasts with their team while establishing a series of episodes, cover art, and voice, about a chosen topic. Students will use their critical thinking skills as well as their creative brain to edit and produce a podcast."

Registration can be found here.
It is time for Original Works! On Friday, March 18th your child was sent home with a packet that includes their artwork and all the information you need about Original Works. Students have been working hard on their art this year and have really made some beautiful artworks.

With Original Works you have a chance to get a permanent copy of their creativity. It is also a great way to give gifts that have a personal touch. Please see the order form inside of the packet as it has many wonderful options.

You have plenty of time to browse as the order forms are not due back to school until April 8th, 2022.

Please send the Original Works packet back to school with everything that was originally inside as well as anything requested of you on the order form. (Don’t forget to put your child’s artwork back into the packet as it is needed for printing). Even if orders are not placed, please send the artwork back to school.

Mrs. An will send everything off to get orders processed. We hope you enjoy your experience with Original Works!
Go Lions!
