This month, we'll be highlighting Mental Health. Mental illness affects millions of people and it's important to talk about mental health!
The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health nonprofit organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness.
Did you know that we have a branch of NAMI right across the street from Grace?
Our NAMI location is "The HUT" - a drop-in center for those who have a mental health diagnosis or are concerned about their mental wellness, as well as families, friends, and loved ones of those living with a mental health diagnosis. They focus on community, mental health, education, and opportunities for our community to socialize.

Grace Endowment Fund Grants
Each year, the Endowment Committee awards several grants for ministry and mission beyond our Missional Spending Plan. These grants come from the interest earned on our Endowment Fund, and can be for pilot projects, special causes, needs of the Synod, community, other organizations, and more!
At the end of 2022, the South Carolina Synod invited congregations to support the effort to fund a medical clinic with the Southwestern Diocese of the Lutheran Church in Tanzania, one of our Synod partners. We responded with a $1,082 grant from the Endowment Fund.
The grant will help provide supplies to do minor surgery and the delivery of babies by nurses and midwives. In addition, a well-baby clinic has been established for mothers' follow-up visits after giving birth. Medical staff examines the infants. Free layonettes to safely carry their babies in is the incentive for these mothers to visit the clinic.
This funding will make a tangible difference for the people served.
1. It shortens the travel time for these poor people to obtain medical services because the hospital is much further away from their homes.
2. The clinic has been upgraded to more of an urgent care center by offering a triage system whereby the most urgent problems are taken care of first to determine continuing treatment at the hospital.

Thank you for your support of the Grace Endowment Fund!
Our connection with Tanzania does not stop there: Judy Fry will be going to Tanzania in July! Read below for how to support her on this mission trip.

Grace Member / Friend Memories
One of the ways we will be celebrating the rich history of Grace this year is to hear about its impact on the lives of its
members.
These do not need to be very long - even a single paragraph would be fine. Simply share with us your perspective, the way your story and Grace's story came together, and we will publish these remembrances in these Grace Notes publications throughout the year.

|
Centennial Temple Talks
As a part of Grace's 100th Anniversary Celebration, we will share a Temple Talk highlighting Grace's history through the decades on the first Sunday of each month, from March through December.
Click on the buttons to read our Temple Talks, about Grace in the 1920s and 1930s.

Comments from current volunteers: “I enjoy the work because it allows me to help people who cannot access healthcare for their chronic conditions;” and, “I believe that we are all called to serve our community in whatever way we can and it is my privilege to do so. Church Directory Updates Needed
|
It is time for us to update our church directory. We use the contact information found in your Realm profile to create this document. Please take time to review your information and make any changes.
We will also have copies of the directory in the fellowship hall over the next few weeks for you to update. You may also contact the church office and we'll make the updates for you.
It is our goal that this resource be reviewed, updated, and distributed once per year.
The directory is intended to facilitate communications within the parish. However, if you do not wish to share your information in the church directory, please contact the church office.
