Easy

No frother? No worries—our easy technique will give you the dreamy foam layer you want with no special equipment required. Though this recipe calls for oat milk, you can swap unsweetened almond, soy or cashew milk in its place. You can also go more traditional with nonfat plain milk instead.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsweetened oat milk
  • ⅓ cup black coffee, hot and very strong
  • 1 tsp maple syrup
  • ⅛ tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch ground cardamom

Instructions

  1. Pour oat milk into a pint-size jar. Close the lid; shake the milk vigorously for about 30 seconds. Uncover and microwave on HIGH until very warm, 30 to 45 seconds. Close the lid; shake vigorously for about 30 seconds.
  2. Pour hot coffee into a coffee mug. Stir in maple syrup, vanilla extract, and cardamom. Add heated milk, scooping all foam onto the top of the latte.
  3. Serving Size: about 1 cup of Maple-Oat Milk Latte.
