Be a Buddy-Matched to create a one-to-one friendships between adults with and without intellectual or developmental disabilities (IDD) in the community. Opportunities for friendship and inclusion are especially important to adults with IDD, who have limited opportunities to stay involved as they age. Get together once a month; enjoy dinner, go to a movie, or spend time together on a walk, just like any other friendship.
Helping Locate Permanent Housing- Assist clients who have housing vouchers in finding an apartment to call home. Having an openness to learning of housing needs and resources of clients who are housing displaced, an ability to interact respectfully with shelter clients and to interact professionally with prospective landlords, makes you a perfect match for this position. This is a weekday position anytime 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
Guide Students to be All Stars-Assist 1-8th grade participants with homework, projects, test preparation, papers, and other academic tasks and help them on the road to All Star status. Work alongside the team to support program activities that are exciting, relevant to youth, organized and well thought-out. School year hours are Monday-Thursday 3-6 p.m. Summer Monday-Thursday, morning, and afternoon sessions. Multiple locations in Cleveland.
Spruce up the Yard -Help older adults stay in their homes by providing light yard work to residents in Cleveland Heights, Highland Heights, Lyndhurst, Maple Heights, Mayfield Heights, Mayfield Village, Richmond Heights, Solon, and South Euclid. Projects include general yard cleanup, trimming bushes, weeding, branch removal, mulch, planting and leaf raking. Individual volunteers welcome and can accommodate groups up to 15. Weekdays and Saturdays in 2 hour shifts.
