Upcoming Differentiated Literacy Instruction Virtual Training and Additional Support for New Providers *

Differentiated Literacy Instruction

1:30- 3:30 p.m.


In this training, teachers learn how to use reading assessment data from the ORF and Maze assessments to identify struggling readers and to develop reading intervention plans unique to each student. Certified teachers will also learn how to create a plan of action to differentiate reading instruction.


In addition, trainers will also address some of the most frequently asked questions that they have received from new providers related to the DLI, ORF and Maze literacy outcome assessments and changes to testing/testing windows. Project RISE staff will also stay online after the training ends to offer additional support.

Upcoming Question, Persuade, Refer Suicide Awareness Trainings *

Learn the basics from a trained Gatekeeper about Question, Persuade, Refer, an evidence-based, suicide prevention intervention developed by Dr. Paul Quinett of the QPR Institute. Just like CPR, QPR is a lifesaving, emergency intervention for someone in crisis. It was developed to teach anyone who takes the training to be able to recognize the warning signs that a person might be considering suicide. QPR is not therapy. QPR teaches the following skills:


Question - How to ask a person if they are considering suicide.


Persuade - How to convince someone to get help.


Refer - How to refer someone to the appropriate resource.


After this presentation, you will be to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and gain knowledge on how and where to find help. Below are Zoom and in person trainings.

Funding for Organizations That Offer Scholarships & Support Wraparound Services for Underserved Students to Graduate From College *

The Frederick A. Deluca Foundation is accepting proposals from organizations that provide scholarships and wraparound support to help underserved students graduate from college. Specifically, the foundation supports programs for populations including homeless, youth aging out of foster care, low-income, individuals with disabilities, etc. The foundation has served approximately 6,000 students through direct tuition and wraparound support for certifications, vocational and bachelor’s degrees. It is interested in investing in programs that help students earn a four-year degree and provide wraparound support for the students as they matriculate through school. The goal of the foundation is to increase the number of students served by 1,000 by the end of 2025. 


The foundation is currently accepting Letters of Inquiry (LOI) from direct service organizations, 

community foundations, schools, or educational organizations in the area of economic mobility, 

specifically scholarships. Application deadline is Friday, October 6.

Communications Specialist - $48,668 Annual

The Communications Specialist is responsible for assisting the Communications team with digital and traditional media, with a primary focus on social media and website content updates. The Communications Specialist will be the primary developer of social media content as directed by the Associate Director of Communications under the general guidance of the Director of Communications. Business Controller - $85,120-148,961 Annual

The Business Controller is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of The Children' Trust. This includes, but is not limited to, the supervision of the work performed by the Accountants, Senior Accounting Analysts, Accounting Operations Manager and Fiscal Data Integrity Analyst of The Children’s Trust in accordance with The Children’s Trust (The Trust) procurement and accounting policies and procedures, Generally Accepted Principles (GAAP), regulations promulgated by the Governmental Accounting Standards (GASB) and Government Auditing Standards.
