NATIONAL HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH

September 15 - October 15 is National Hispanic Heritage Month, when Americans celebrate the contributions of citizens from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. Learn more about Hispanic Heritage Month.


In honor of this month, the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is sending out emails every Thursday highlighting the contributions and achievements of Hispanic medical professionals. A short trivia quiz will be sent out on October 10 when you can test your knowledge and be entered for a chance to win a spectacular prize! View the first email.

MUSM at the Georgia National Fair

Virtual Wellness Coffee Break: Mental Health Awareness

Student Wellness and the Office of Student Affairs will be hosting School of Medicine alum and current internal medicine resident, Dr. Nicole Mette. She will be speaking  about mental health awareness. Specifically, Dr. Mette will cover the signs and sources of burnout in the medical profession, how to recognize signs of mental illness in yourself and others, and how to overcome barriers for seeking help.

National Primary Care Week

National Primary Care Week (NPCW) is an annual event hosted by the American Medical Student Association. In honor of NPCW, the School of Medicine will host events throughout the week designed to help highlight the importance and opportunities available in primary care. More information to come.

Prisma Health Columbia Psychiatry Virtual Open House
