FROM THE SENIOR WARDEN
The April Vestry meeting was the first meeting with the three newly elected members and an appropriate time to re-establish a focus on our priorities. The business section of the meeting was fairly mundane, with updates provided on our finances, our buildings and our marketing and evangelism initiatives. The most important priority continues to be to keep spreading the good news of Jesus Christ to our parishioners and to be mindful that we are also called to spread that good news to others in our community. All church activities, no matter how mundane, are imbued with a philosophy of being a welcoming congregation to bring new folks into our worship and church life.

We tend to default to our Average Sunday Attendance (ASA is the official Diocesan acronym) as a way to assess success and growth, and, while a useful metric, it can’t be the end all measure. But it is a metric that tells us something about ourselves and we should feel good about ourselves as post-pandemic attendance is recovering and as parishioners of all ages enjoy the preaching, music and fellowship each Sunday and in the various activities that occur during the week. It is this shared life that we can share with others to add more to our church family.

Over the next several weeks, there are lots of opportunities to share our Episcopal life internally and externally. Highlighting a few: there will be good eatin’ at our Wednesday night suppers on May 3rd and May 17th, and this Saturday the Creation Care Committee is highlighting Earth Day in our churchyard. With these events, we get to enjoy our collective worship and we also show that our community extends outside our walls.

Books available this Sunday in the Narthex and in the Parish Office during the week. $20 donation.

Join us Tuesday evenings on Zoom at 7:30 PM beginning April 18.  Register for the class using the link below. Group leaders will send emails to all participants with Zoom log-in details and schedules. Contact Fr. Eric Biddy for more information.
