It is hard to believe , but we are half-way through the 1st quarter. Please monitor your child's progress on HAC and encourage them to seek help if needed.

FREE AFTER SCHOOL TUTORING!

This is a FREE service offered by our juniors and seniors of National Honor Society. Students that need help or support in any of their classes can stay after school on any Tuesday and/or Thursday from 4-5 p.m. and work with an NHS member. No appointment or reservation is needed. Students can also request tutoring in the mornings or during lunches, however, an appointment for these times must be made with Mrs. Milian. And this year we will also be providing tutoring services during Excel times. So all our students have plenty of opportunities to get some extra help when they need it! For more info, please see me in the media center.

As you are planning trips for winter break, please be aware that the last day of school is Wednesday, December 21st. There are no district midterm exams, but teachers will be administering summatives to end the quarter and there are district final exams for some semester courses. It is important that students are on campus and finish the semester. We return from winter break on Thursday, January 5th.

Once the checklist is completed, the senior must drop off the Gold Envelope to their assigned Counselor to have their transcripts sent. It can take up to 14 days for this process once the counselor gets the gold envelope due to several other academic reports are required to be submitted with the transcript. After the 14 days, the Senior needs to circle back around to the counselor and pick up the Gold Envelope in CPOD.

Senior Dues

Every year senior dues are collected to pay for everything related to graduation – facility rental, security, flower, video board, sound, streaming, parking, diplomas, programs, etc. The fee is $65 and can be paid online now. Senior dues must already be paid for access to the GradBash deposit link – if you are on the waiting list, but haven’t paid senior dues you will be removed from the waiting list and will need to rejoin at the bottom of the list. Seniors who pay their senior dues by October by Friday, October 14th will receive a senior t-shirt. https://www.schoolpay.com/pay/for/Class-of-2023-Senior-Class-Dues-/ScBfZbi

GradBash

GradBash is a special ticketed event for seniors at Universal Studios. Seniors cannot use an annual pass for access to this event or drive themselves. Seniors will depart Nease at 1:30pm on 4/28/23 and return at approximately 5am on 4/29/23. At this time all original 250 spots are filled and we’ve been able to add an additional 50! If you are the first 50 on the waiting list, we are working on emailing each of you to make your deposit. The email is being sent to the email you gave us when you joined the waiting list. The email also details how long you have to make the deposit. If you miss your deposit window, you will be removed from the list and we will contact the next person on the list.

The non-refundable deposit is $100, we estimate a second non-refundable payment in the spring of $85, and it is possible (based on fuel costs) that a 3rd payment may be necessary. Our hope is to keep the total cost at $185, which includes the special event ticket (access to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure from 4pm to 2am), charter bus transportation, and a $20 voucher that can be used at park restaurants or shops.

GradBash is SOLD OUT! Students can join the waiting list. At this point, you will only be contacted if a space becomes available, you filled out the form correctly, and your dues are paid:  https://forms.office.com/r/iY61hj8VwS

If you have already made the GradBash deposit, but cannot attend, please remember that the deposit is non-refundable. However, you can TRANSFER your ticket to another student. Nease does not participate in any financial transactions with transfers. If you are interested in a transfer, please see Mrs. Bourquin in D007. She will explain the transfer process to you, provide you with a form, and if you request it let the next person on the waiting list know you want to transfer your ticket and how to contact you.

Did you know that Hispanic and Latino Americans are the largest minority group in the US making up over 18% of our population? National Hispanic Heritage Month begins Thursday, Sept. 15th and runs through Oct. 15th and recognizes and celebrates members of our communities and their ancestors who hail from Mexico, parts of the Caribbean, Central and South American and Spain. During the month we celebrate and recognize all the achievements and contributions of Hispanic American champions who have inspired others to achieve success. To celebrate our culture, our heritage, and our people, I will be hosting a “Hispanic Heritage Celebration” in our media center on Wednesday, Oct. 5th during Excel time. We would LOVE parent support and help! We are hoping to have a showcase of foods, music, dress, flags, decorations, and anything else you can help us with for the event. If you are able to help us out in some way, PLEASE email me as soon as possible so that I can count on you!! Thank you so much!! Que Viva Mi Gente!

SENIORS!! Get your “Panther Café Senior Tile”! This is your chance to IMMORTALIZE yourself in our library!

ALL seniors have the opportunity to take home one of our café area ceiling tiles, paint and personalize it, then have it placed back into our ceiling for a donation of $25. The money raised from this fundraiser will be used to purchase new computers for our media center and other technology enhancements and at the same time have our seniors immortalized in our café as these will never be repainted! Please contact me in the media center for more information.
