Open to Spring
Choose to Live with an Open and Loving Heart
It is such a sacred Gift to observe and enjoy the Earth create the masterpiece of spring here on the east coast! The blossoming of the Earth encourages and calls us to Open and Begin Again. Whatever that may be for each of us.

To live with a Loving and Open heart is a conscious and daily choice. Each time we do it, we gain more skill and awareness to do it again. We open at our own pace and as we are ready.

What does it mean to live with a Loving and Open Heart? It means to open and see all that is there. We don't just focus on the parts we like and deny or resist the challenges and heartaches. With the practices of yoga, mediation and breath practices, we humbly learn to balance and hold grief and gratitude, joy and sorrow, love and fear. Another way to think about living with a Loving and Open heart is that we try not to judge or criticize any states of our being. Rather, we honor all parts of ourselves and treat them with equanimity, kindness and compassion. Remember, an ocean of divine energy lives in your breath to weather whatever weather arises!

Sometimes we feel shut down and we close down and isolate from others. Sometimes we need to do that to heal and grow. When we feel shut down, it may be a yearning of our hearts to turn inward, to Open to our sacred hearts and tenderly explore what is there and listen deeply to our hearts. This is a way we honor our hearts - opening inwardly and it guides us to be. This sacred being will inform wise and aware doing when we are ready to reemerge into the world.

Remember to Open is to say Yes to life: to open to new things and experiences, to do something different, try on a different perspective. To Open is a pathway to Love. On any given day, we can ask ourselves: what does Love call us to do in each circumstance? To Open is to stay aware and receptive to all the experiences and mysteries of life that unfold each day.

To witness the beauty of nature is an invitation to remember the beauty inside of you. When we feel the gift of sunshine and see beautiful flowers and trees, it can bring a smile to our heart and a lightness in our steps because we remember the divine beauty and sacredness that exists inside and outside of each of us. Go outside and soak up all that beauty and remember that sacred energy also lives in you. Breath and Open to it Again and Again to nourish and replenish yourself.

New Beginnings

"In out-of-the-way places of the heart,
Where your thoughts never think to wander,
This beginning has been quietly forming,
Waiting until you were ready to emerge.
For a long time it has watched your desire,
Feeling the emptiness growing inside you,
Noticing how you willed yourself on,
Still unable to leave what you had outgrown.
It watched you play with the seduction of safety.

And the gray promises that sameness whispered,

Heard the waves of turmoil rise and relent,
Wondered would you always live like this.
Then the delight, when your courage kindled,
And out you stepped onto new ground,
Your eyes young again with energy and dream,

A path of plenitude opening before you.
Though your destination is not yet clear
You can trust the promise of this opening;
Unfurl yourself into the grace of beginning
That is at one with your life’s desire.
Awaken your spirit to adventure;
Hold nothing back, learn to find ease in risk;
Soon you will be home in a new rhythm,
For your soul senses the world that awaits you."
John O Donohue
"And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.

Life is a process of becoming, a combination of states we have to go through. Where people fail is that they wish to elect a state and remain in it. This is a kind of death.

Living never wore one out so much as the effort not to live.

Life is truly known only to those who suffer, lose, endure adversity and stumble from defeat to defeat.

Perfection is static, and I am in full progress.

Abnormal pleasures kill the taste for normal ones."
