Balloon Museum Annular Eclipse
Temporary Art Project
Call for artists for a temporary art project for the 2023 Annular Eclipse Event at the Anderson Abruzzo Albuquerque International Balloon Museum

The Anderson Abruzzo Albuquerque International Balloon Museum Temporary Art Project aims to activate the Balloon Museum's celebration of the 2023 Annular Eclipse which will take place during the 51st Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta®, October 7-15. The Balloon Museum is located at the center of the eclipse path where maximum obscuration of the Sun in Albuquerque will be at 10:35 am.
Four primary sites have been identified for digital, light projections, 2D and 3D art, and more, but other sites may be available. Conceptual proposals around themes that include science, flight, exploration, and astronomy are encouraged. Four artists and their projects will be selected for an award of $10,000 each.

Call for artists to commission a large-scale, site-specific outdoor work of art for the Sandia Science & Technology Park

The Albuquerque Arts Board and Sandia Science & Technology Park (SS&TP) have partnered to offer an opportunity for artists to collaborate with scientists and innovators from the SS&TP resident companies to develop technology-based public art for the area.
Founded in 1998, the SS&TP is a 340-acre, master-planned technology community. Associated with the Sandia National Laboratories and adjacent to Kirtland Air Force Base, SS&TP resident companies have access to world-class facilities, technologies, scientists, and engineers.

N4th is now accepting submissions for the 2023 N4th New Works Festival

N4th is looking for theater artists across all disciplines to bring new works by New Mexican playwrights to Albuquerque audiences. We are looking for playwrights, dramaturgs, directors, designers, actors, and more!
Festival dates are August 3rd - 13th. All participating artists will receive a stipend for their work.

El Malpais Open Art Call - History of Place & Culture

The Bureau of Land Management and Public Lands Interpretive Association are pleased to announce a call for entries for El Malpais National Conservation Area Community Art Program that will be taking place in August 2023. The Bureau of Land Management is excited to offer this space to create a connection between art and land stewardship, history and culture, and land conservation.

This project will highlight local communities, including local Indigenous Artists, and their connection to El Malpais National Conservation Area. Artists, private collectors, galleries, and museums/non-profit institutions are invited to submit draft artworks for consideration for a permanent rotating display of art at El Malpais National Conservation Area Ranger Station, located 9 miles south of I-40 Exit 89 (towards Quemado) on NM Highway-117. The Ranger Station is a hub for visitors to experience and gain education about the importance of the resources offered by the El Malpais area.

City of Flagstaff Call to Artists

The City of Flagstaff announces a public art opportunity for qualified artists or artist teams to design, fabricate and permanently install in an existing landscaped area a 3-dimensional artwork at a new park adjacent to the Southside's historic Murdoch Center. The project budget is $45,000. Travel funding may be available for out-of-state artists.
Three to four finalists will be chosen out of the initial applicants based on qualifications and past projects. Each finalist will receive an honorarium fee of $1,000.
