Introducing the Cedar Park Popup!

The Cedar Park Popup: Community starts here

There’s a new kid on the block, called the Cedar Park Popup! The Cedar Park Popup is a trailer stocked with everything a neighborhood or community group would need for a public party, meeting or other gathering – including tables, chairs, outdoor games and more! It’s completely free for neighborhoods and community groups to use, on a first-come/first-served, as-available basis.

The idea behind the Cedar Park Popup is to build and strengthen our sense of community in Cedar Park. Click to learn more!

Tree Debris Curbside Special Collection Update

Great news! The tree debris curbside special collection is nearing completion - and if you're still patiently waiting on crews to arrive, they will be there very soon. Crews are doubling their efforts in remaining neighborhoods.

The amount of debris collected is absolutely incredible. As of late Wednesday, crews had collected 195,540 cubic yards of debris - and we estimate they'll end up collecting a total of more than 300,000 cubic yards of debris by the time they're done. You just have to see it in this video to believe it:

What's next? We still have to move debris piles from offload sites and our parks to a final staging location, where crews will begin grinding and processing limbs for haul-away and disposal.

Cedar Park Parks & Recreation Department scores State award for Kaleidospoke glow-in-the-dark bicycle ride event

It's time for some bicycle horn-tootin'! Our Cedar Park Parks & Recreation Department took home the coveted Lone Star Recreation and Programming Achievement Award for its first-ever Kaleidospoke event. Kaleidospoke is a glow-in-the-dark bicycle ride. We just hosted the second-ever Kalaidospoke on March 6.

This award recognizes achievements in parks programming across the State. The City of Cedar Park’s Parks and Recreation Department competed against cities of similar size (“class 3” cities) for the award, announced at the recent Texas Recreation and Park Society Conference. Way to go, Parks & Rec!

Cedar Park Police Department re-accredited for Best Practices

CPPD among only 193 out of 2800+ law enforcement agencies in Texas to hold accredited status, even fewer are reaccredited

Georgetown Police Chief Cory Tchida, on behalf of the Texas Police Chiefs Association Foundation, presented the Cedar Park Police Department's Certificate of Reaccreditation to Cedar Park Police Chief Mike Harmon at the March 9 Cedar Park City Council Meeting.

CPPD recently earned Reaccreditation from the TPCAF's Best Practices for Law Enforcement Program.

Why is this significant? CPPD is among only 193 out of more than 2800 law enforcement agencies to achieve accreditation - and even fewer achieve re-accreditation. It's truly the gold standard in Texas law enforcement. Thank you to CPPD for your hard work over the last 12 years to maintain accreditation - meeting or exceeding exceeds 173 rigorous standards.
