Thank you for subscribing to the GuysWithRides.com Daily Newsletter.

GuysWithRides is the only dealer-free online community for collector car enthusiasts. GuysWithRides.com has a three-fold mission:

  1. Manage a dealer-free online marketplace in a reserve-style auction format where private buyers can bid on rides offered for sale by private sellers. Highlights of our current auctions can be found in the green section below.
  2. Provide private party "Craigslist Classifind" leads based on our six daily themes. We provide these leads at no charge and we have no financial interest in the sale of these rides. Today's Malaise Monday theme focuses on classic rides built between 1972 and 1984 when automakers struggled to meet ever-increasing emissions, safety, and fuel economy regulations with then-available technology.
  3. Feature a Wide Variety of Honest, Entertaining, and Informative Content accessed through our Ride Along Page.

Project Risky Dashboard Restoration Continues...

While it's taking a bit longer than hoped, Rudy continues to work on restoring the dashboard and instrument pod on our project 1985 Porsche 928S. On Friday, he completed work on installing the most intricate piece of the project: the leather instrument pod cover.

Over the weekend, Rudy successfully removed all of the original cracked vinyl without destroying the urethane support that forms the difficult to recreate curves. More filling and foam work continues today.

Our daily Craigslist "Classifinds" provide leads on rides we think you'll find interesting. We are not affiliated in any way with the sale of these rides - we just want to help them find a new home. Here are today's featured classifinds:

Missing Metrics: 1979 Ford Mustang Indy Pace Car – $12,000

When Ford launched the third-generation Mustang for the 1979 model year, everyone considered it a huge improvement over the Pinto-based Mustang II. One letdown of the new Mustang that later proved to be unpopular was the optional TRX performance tire package...

Golden Gem: 1984 Mercedes-Benz W123 300CD – $12,000

If you need great fuel mileage in a reliable car but long for the classic styling of a two-door pillarless hardtop, as long as you’re not concerned with quick acceleration, a diesel-powered W123 Mercedes-Benz is the vintage car for you. This gold over caramel 300CD...

Passionately Preserved: 1975 Ford Elite 35.5K Mile – $12,500

For reasons we never quite understand, there are a fair number of car sellers who like to use their local cemetery as a backdrop to photograph their car for sale. To their credit, the seller of this well-preserved 1975 Ford Elite parked the car in a more benign spot...

Swapped Survivor: 1976 Honda Civic CVCC – $5,000 ORO

History has a funny way of repeating itself. Fifty years ago, high gas prices, inflation, and rising interest rates helped make many Japanese import cars an attractive alternative for many buyers. This 1976 Honda Civic CVCC Hatchback project features a five-speed-manual...

The Internet and GuysWithRides never forget a great classic. Here's an update on this past Malaise Monday feature

NEW! Award 101: 1975 Ford Granada Ghia – NOW $10,000

May 11, 2022 Update – The seller just lowered the asking price of their 52K-mile survivor by another three large to land at $10,000. We suspect the seller is quickly learning how over-priced their Granada was and remains even at ten large. These remain nice used cars...
