The Arboretum for Educators
Content and methods for teaching science outdoors
Flowers and Pollinators
Saturday, June 4
9am–11:30am
Hunnewell Building, 125 Arborway
During this last program of the school year, we will begin by dissecting flowers to look closely at flower parts among a variety of flower species. Then, we will observe flower-pollinator interactions in the field and use nets to capture insects for possible identification. A final flower-pollination simulation activity will help participants integrate the amazing diversity of flowers and pollinators found in nature.
Due to current COVID restrictions, all participants need to wear a mask indoors. No food or drink are allowed in the lecture hall.
