During this last program of the school year, we will begin by dissecting flowers to look closely at flower parts among a variety of flower species. Then, we will observe flower-pollinator interactions in the field and use nets to capture insects for possible identification. A final flower-pollination simulation activity will help participants integrate the amazing diversity of flowers and pollinators found in nature.
Teachers, please share with your students! Led by Castle of our Skins’ Director of Education Taylor Lena McTootle, “Making a Mythos” focuses on the creative power of storytelling. Young participants will experience firsthand how fictional tales can reflect our cultural values and create them. Appropriate for youth ages 8-12 years old.
