Welcome Broomfield's First Board of Health
Broomfield's first ever Board of Health members were appointed by City Council on March 7:
  • Savita Ginde, MD, MPH
  • Zachary Lustgarten, MS, REHS
  • Elizabeth McCutchon, EdD, MSN, NNP-BC, PMHNP-BC
  • Erin Seedorf, DrPH, MPH
  • Eugenia Valdez, MSN, BSN, RN
The Board of Health is responsible for approving the five year Public Health Improvement Plan, developing and promoting the public policies needed to secure the conditions for a healthy community, holding hearings, issuing orders and adopting rules for public or environmental health issues. Regular meeting are being held monthly: The first Thursday of the month, 5:30–7:30 pm.
Spring Spectacular
Swing into spring at Broomfield’s Spring Spectacular, Saturday, April 8 at the Broomfield Community Center! With sunshine and springtime filling the air, check out the new things Broomfield has to offer. From the NEW Spring Artisan Market to enjoying a fresh cooked meal from The Dancing Bee Cafe along with inflatables and a special guest appearance from everyone’s favorite furry friend, the Easter Bunny, there's sure to be something for everyone at Broomfield’s Spring Spectacular. 
Lawn Replacement Program
Transform your thirsty lawn into a beautiful, low-water landscape! Check out the new Lawn Replacement Program managed by Resource Central for discounts when you remove a section of lawn. Spring applications are due March 17. 
Broomfield Days Logo Contest Voting
Your vote is needed to help pick the 2023 Broomfield Days logo! This design and slogan will be the theme for this year’s event and be featured on all Broomfield Days merchandise. Voting will run until March 16 at 5 p.m. Thank you to the artists who submitted their designs!

🏠 Property Tax Refund: Visit Broomfield.org/Housing to learn if you qualify for the new Property Tax Refund Program and to access the online application. You can also visit an in-person clinic to apply any Thursday in March at the Broomfield Community Center from 8 a.m.-noon.

🛹 Skate Park Refresh: The Broomfield Skate Park Refresh is scheduled to begin on March 20 and the skate park will be closed for 3-4 weeks for construction. Barring adverse weather, the skate park is slated to reopen on April 21. 
🥫 SNAP Benefits Have Changed: If your household receives SNAP benefits, start preparing now as all households should anticipate a decrease in food benefits. Visit Broomfield.org/FoodAssistance.

💰 Scholarship Opportunity: If you attended high school in Broomfield and are pursuing higher education in a medical field, you may be eligible to apply for the $5,000 Jean and Bill Markel Medical Scholarship. Applications are due April 15.

In honor of International Women's Day last week, The Broomfield Police Department hosted the Inaugural Women's Safety Event for Women of all ages to enjoy. From mini safety sessions and informational booths to hands-on demonstrations and food trucks, it truly was a great event to create a safer community. Example sessions included safe social media use, safe online dating practices, basic CPR, situational awareness and more.
