Tell your friends! NYWC is partnering again with The Redwood to bring primary and mental health supports to women, trans and non-binary folks at 116 Industry Street. The Redwood Mobile Healing Centre is a custom RV, fully outfitted with a medical exam room and a client consultation area, that provides supports around gender-based violence, mental health, primary health care, sexual health, and maternal/infant care.

The bus will be on-site on September 14th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will return once a month.

What does a “community space for women” look like to you? What activities would you be interested in participating in? If you are interested in joining a FREE women’s drop-in program or would like to volunteer to lead group activities for women, join us on September 28 to share your ideas at our Women's Lounge Consultation event.

We would like to give a warm welcome to our new placement students for the Fall! Ashwini Viegas, Catherine Tagapulot and Ria Roopani will be starting the week of September 11th. Ashwini will be learning about and supporting our database management system, while Catherine and Ria will work to support our Women's Empowerment Series and the Women's Lounge. All three will also be performing the vital work of helping Awesome People through our 1:1 Support service.

Our first post-Covid member BBQ was a success! So many members expressed joy at seeing each other again after our last get together in 2019. The Board also used the opportunity to consult with members about upcoming changes to our NYWC bylaws.

There is still time to become a member and vote at our upcoming AGM.
