May 14, 2022

Dear Hart Families,

Can you believe that we only have 10 school wake-ups until the last day of school?  We have a lot of exciting events happening over the next 10 days so please make sure that you have marked your calendar so you won't miss any events to finish the '21-'22 school year strong!

As many of you have heard, our beloved Alis Brantl, our PEIMS clerk, was recently diagnosed with colon cancer.  There has been a Caring Bridge site set up for her so you can keep up to date on her journey.  Through this site, you can find different ways to support Alis in her fight from buying a t-shirt or giving a donation.  With Alis's consent, we wanted to keep our Hart community updated as much as possible.  Alis did ask that you make comments on this site versus texting her because it is very difficult for her to keep up with all of her text messages. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me. I hope that you have a fantastic weekend.

All My Best,

Wendy Craft

My mission is to be a servant leader who works with students, parents, and staff to build a community that fosters relationships and learning where everyone THRIVES. Each day, I strive to make the choice to be great versus comfortable, because you can't be both!

HES Information

Super Skills Day (Field Day): Tuesday, May 24th

Super Skills Day is an event where all students have the opportunity to show off their athletic skills. This year’s event is slated for Tuesday, May 24, 2022. The primary students (K-2nd) participate from

8:45am - 11:20am and the intermediate (3rd and 4th) from 12:15pm - 2:45pm. We encourage ALL students to wear their grade-level T-shirt on this day.

Students will progress through a variety of skills events, rotating every 15 minutes to the next station. We will allow 5 minutes to progress to the next station for refilling water bottles. Some of the events include Bowling, Kickback, Scarf Grab, water events, and a few traditional events like 3 Legged Race and Sack Race.

Coach Nicholson and Coach Blom ask that students come properly attired in shorts or sweatpants with running shoes. See information below regarding “Appropriate Swimwear” for the water events. Make sure your child/children bring a water bottle that can be refilled several times and labeled with his/her name. Also, please send a change of clothes to change into after the completion of Super Skills Day. It is a good idea to bring a backpack to carry these items in. And, don't forget the sunscreen! This day will be a sack lunch day.

Parents are invited to join in the activities as enthusiastic spectators. We will use high school seniors this year to help supervise the stations and escort individual classes to the different areas. Events will take place on the playground, in the gym, and in the cafeteria.

Thank you,

Coach Nicholson and Coach Blom

Kinder, 1st, and 2nd Grade Talent Weeks: May 9th - 20th
It's time for our Kindergarten - 2nd Grade students to share their talents in music class! Here are a few points to keep in mind:

  • There are no sign up lists. Any students who wish to showcase their talent will perform either the week of the 9th or the 16th depending on how many students participate.
  • This is optional, and students not showcasing a talent will be part of the awesome audience!
  • Students will perform in music class for their homeroom peers only. Please see the chart below to see when your student has class:
  • All information can also be found on the Hart Music Website.
  • Acts will be 1 1/2 minutes or less and appropriate for school.
Bring all props to school the day your student will perform - classroom or
music room.
  • If your student will perform with recorded music, please upload the music (mp3, mp4, .wav) into the appropriate Google folder.  Name the file with your student's name (ex. "Katrina Arabie_Let It Go").

Please contact katrina_arabie@lovejoyisd.net with any questions. I look forward to seeing our students shine!
The visit will be held virtually on Tuesday, May 17th. If you would like to order any of her books, the easiest place to get them is Amazon. Please send your books to the library with your child’s name on it. An autograph will be placed inside the books and sent home with your child. Ms. Markle is guaranteed to provide a fun and exciting presentation to our leopards! Thanks to the Hart PTO for generously sponsoring this program!
