• Students are also required to wear masks when using public school bus transportation. This is a federal guideline.
• Students will continue to be seated 3’ apart throughout the school day.
• We will transition our cafeteria to a more traditional setting over the next several weeks, allowing more students to sit together.
• Quarantine guidelines for in-school exposures will follow the new “Mask-to-Stay” option given by the City of Cincinnati Health Department. A flow chart for scenarios can be found here.

• Guidance and information to schools from different organizations such as the Ohio Department of Health, CDC, etc. will continue to change. As we receive new guidance, we will continue to modify and adapt our policies, prioritizing in-person learning and the health of our community.

Registration Is Now Open

School enrollment is currently underway. All families received an email from Mark Rinaudo on January 12. This email contained a link to re-enroll for the upcoming year. This link is only active for 30 days. Please check your email and junk mail and be sure to complete the re-enrollment process for the 2022-2023 school year.

Girl Scout Cookie Drive Thru

GA Girl Scouts are holding several drive-thru cookie sales this month.

• Saturday, February 19 10am-4pm
• Sunday, February 20 9am-2pm
• Saturday, February 26 10am-4pm
• Sunday, February 27 9am-2pm

All drive-thru events take place in the upper lot at McNicholas High School.

GA Spring Musical Is Back: Stage Crew Members Needed

Students in grades 5-8 are needed behind-the-scenes for High School Musical Jr. Performances are March 24 and 25. Our first stage crew meeting will be Wednesday, February 23, from 3-4 in the Music Room. Applications are available from Mrs. Leach or at www.gamusicboosters.org . Questions? Email Holly Leach.

2022 Spring Soccer Registration Is Live

Registration is now OPEN for 2022 Spring Soccer. Please sign your son or daughter up on the Athletics Boosters website.

Practices are held at GA and games Start in April.

We continue to offer two leagues based on age and skill level.

• Guardian Angels Pre-K and K Coed Soccer: For our Pre-k and K players we offer our own Guardian Angels Co-Ed league, where practice and a game are held during the same hour on Friday nights on our GA field. It is an instructional league and best served for those still learning the game. If you have any questions, please reach out to Matt Ciotti or Megan & Sam Schulte.
• SAY East Guardian Angels Soccer: Open to 1st -8th grades and experienced K soccer players. Practices typically 1-2x a week with weekend game(s). Highly competitive games and teams that offer lots of soccer development and playing time. If you have any questions, please reach out to Brian Kathmann.

Registration must be completed by February 20th.

If you're sick of paying thousands of dollars for club soccer to watch your son or daughter stand on the sideline or play on their 2nd and 3rd teams, we'd love to welcome you and your kid(s) back to GA Soccer to learn and develop with our GA community - at a small fraction of the price and drive time!

Even in cold weather, it's never too early to look forward to Spring! Hope to see everyone on the soccer fields soon!

Registration Is Open For Lil Angels

Lil Angels program for kids K-2nd grade is starting in March and registration is open now! Visit the GA Athletics Boosters Sports Registration Portal to sign up.  

About Lil Angels

Lil’ Angels Athletics program will expose children in grades K-2 to a variety of sports including basketball, volleyball, field/track, and soccer. The goal of the program is to offer children the opportunity to interact with their friends in an extracurricular environment while introducing different sports to the children in a fun and casual atmosphere. The kids will learn fundamental skills to be prepared for the GCCYS (Greater Cincinnati Catholic Youth Sports) programs offered beginning in 3rd grade. This year's season will be once a week for 8 sessions starting early March through April. The program takes place at GA outside and/or in the Gym (if there is inclement weather.) A small fee of $25 is charged to each participant.

Lil Angels Schedule

Prior to practice, your student will be walked down to the gym/field by a coach and/or teacher. If your child attends aftercare, they can be walked there after practice by a coach.

The schedule will be as followed:

Kindergarten: Practices are Tuesdays immediately following school 2:45-4:00pm.

1st Grade: Practices are Wednesdays immediately following school 2:45-4:00pm.

2nd Grade: Practices are Thursdays immediately following school 2:45-4:00pm.

The specific start date (targeting the first week of March) will be shared via the respective class coach leading up to March.

Fathers Team Meeting This Friday

Join the GA Fathers Team this Friday, February 11th, at 6:05am to discuss this week’s topic, Our mothers & their influence in our lives. The miracle of giving birth shifts quickly into the unique call to care for and be responsible for a life from infancy to adulthood. That’s the gift and duty each of our mothers took on many years ago. Join us for this discussion in person in the Undercroft (Conference Room B), or by Zoom, this Friday at 6:05 am. Bible Camp is Back This Summer!

North Castle is hidden in a frozen land. The King’s valiant Knights are on a quest in search of the King’s Armor. But the armor isn’t what they think it is.

Knights of North Castle: Quest for the King’s Armor, invites children to be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his power by exploring how we put on the armor of God. Kids will take on the role of brave Knights and begin their quest each session by opening the King’s Book.

GA’s Bible Camp runs from Monday, June 20 through Thursday, June 23 from 9:00am. to 12:00pm.

Registration Is Now Open For Camp GAudeo

This summer marks our eighth annual "Camp GAudeo" - a summer day camp filled with fun, faith, and friends. All families with students currently in grades 4-7 are encouraged to consider this camp, held June 27-July 1 at the parish. Campers enjoy a variety of incredible activities, games, skills-building, and large events (like Giant Slip-N-Slide) led by high school volunteer counselors. We will also enjoy several off-site excursions to Castle Skateland, Urban Air, and Coney Island. 

Registration is currently open, and spots will go quickly. Secure a spot for a student currently in grade 4-7 by visiting our website. Students in grades 9-12 are also invited to visit the registration page and fill out a high school counselor application. Counselors can earn up to 55 service hour credits and have a great time doing so!

Weekly Green Tip

School Masses

You can find a full schedule of school Masses on the calendar in Rediker. At this time, our All School Masses are NOT open to visitors. We will be livestreaming all of the All School Masses through GA’s Facebook page and YouTube channel. Families are welcome to attend grade level Masses.

Lunchroom News

Kaldi's offers a hot lunch option every day for our students. All meals must be pre-ordered before 8:30am the day of service; this is done through the Ez-Parent website. Students will have the option to buy additional items during lunch, as long as they have an established account with a positive balance. Order GA Sweatpants

Help support the 8th grade class and order GA sweatpants. These are approved to wear on out-of-uniform and spirit wear days. A portion of each sweatpant order raises money towards the 8th grade trip and activities each year. Pants can be ordered online throughout the school year.

Cookie Ministry 

Guardian Angels School Cookie Ministry teams up with the Parish Parish Peanut Butter group to feed families in need. The Peanut Butter group makes 1,500 peanut butter and bologna sandwiches. GA students donate cookies. St. Francis Seraph Church in Over-the-Rhine gives the food to families in need. Students are asked to bring in two dozen cookies, brownies, or rice krispie bars on their classroom's designated day. They do need to be bagged, two treats per bag. All 8th grade classes are responsible for the next donation on Tuesday, February 15th. Donations of juice boxes and prepackaged snacks are also needed. A complete schedule for the school year is attached. 

Attendance Line

If your child will be absent or late to school, please call the main school office by 8:00 each morning. We recently upgraded our telephone system. In doing so, we removed the former “attendance line.” All parents needing to report their child absent or late to school should call our Office Assistant, Melissa Boston, using the main school phone number - 624-3141.

Christian Service Program - Faith in Action

The purpose of the Christian Service Program is to enhance the religion curriculum at Guardian Angels Church. It is the duty of all Christians to reach out in service to those around them. Christ asks us to be His hands and feet on earth, keeping His mission of reaching out to those in need alive. The students will complete their service within the following settings: at home, the parish community/school and the community at-large. This outreach may be completed individually, with a partner, or in a group. 

This program will focus more on the meaning of the actual service opportunities rather than completing a prescribed amount of time. You will choose activities for each component—service to your family, service to your school/parish and service to the poor and vulnerable in our community. There is no minimum requirement of hours to complete. Grades 1-3 are required to complete at least 2 activities for each component; grades 4-8 at least 3 for each. You are certainly encouraged to complete more! See your Religion teacher, Mrs. Froehlich, or the parish website for a list of suggested activities and the log sheet.

The Guardian Angels PTA collects Box Tops and uses the funds earned to purchase indoor recess games and outdoor recess equipment. Box Tops is now on a digital platform. To participate, you’ll need to download the Box Tops App and scan your grocery receipt within 14 days of purchase. You’ll find more information here.

Kroger Community Rewards

Have you signed up for Kroger Community Rewards and designated GA as your beneficiary? The more families who register, the more money our school receives through the program. Kroger Community Rewards offers a great way for you to support our school's technology fund...and you don't have to spend a penny. You can search for GA or use our NPO number, 80200. The amount Guardian Angels receives depends on the points our supporters rack up while grocery shopping.

SYNOD On Synodality: Pope Want To Hear From You

As you may know, the Holy See has initiated Synod 2021-2023, a two-year process of “reflection and sharing of the whole Church” in discerning the will of God on how to best accomplish the mission of the Church. The Holy Father is asking for as many of the baptized as possible to participate in archdiocese-wide meetings taking place in January and February, 2022, to discuss how we can collectively better advance the message of salvation. The St. Francis De Sales Deanery Synod meeting will be held February 10, 2022 at 7:00pm at Mount St. Mary’s Seminary in the Bartlett Center. If that date and time do not work, feel free to sign up at another Synod location. To learn more and sign up, please visit catholicaoc.org/synod for more information and other meeting times.
