89 DAYS UNTIL SF PRIDE WEEKEND!
Are you excited? We are! It's been a topsy turvy two years since we last marched down Market Street and gathered in Civic Center, so we're long overdue to educate the world, commemorate our heritage, celebrate our culture, and liberate our people, as our mission statement says.

And as we grow closer to the event, we'll bring you more news about what is being planned for the June 25th and 26th event. Want to know before this monthly missive comes out? Then join SF Pride and become a member, get key information by way of special announcements and agency updates shared at our monthly Member meetings.
New Faces at San Francisco Pride
GIVE A WARM WELCOME TO ELYCIA THOMAS-KNIGHT AND XAVIER-DOMINIC WILLIAMS DAVENPORT
.
Two new faces joining the team at SF Pride for the 2022 event are Elycia Thomas-Knight and Xavier-Dominic Williams Davenport.

Coming to us from the East Bay, Elycia has been the Parade Manager for Oakland's Black Joy Parade for the last 3 years, and assisted with the Oakland Pride Parade in 2019 under SF Pride's Parade Manager, Mike Taft. She will be stepping into his shoes this year at SF Pride. She owns and runs a small business designing moss wall art and build-out botanical installations.

Joining us as the Social Media Manager for the 2022 SF Pride season, Xavier is a Black man of trans experience, from the Bay Area. One of the founders of the Oakland Trans March, Xavier has worked with various organizations throughout the Bay Area to ensure that trans masc/non-binary communities are heard. Noticing a need to amplify the voices of those communities, Xavier has helped provide them with resources and has created PyramidKings, an organization that is focused on providing tools for the trans masc/non-binary community.

San Francisco Transgender Day of Visibility
San Francisco Annual Transgender Day of Visibility is happy to announce this year's Transgender Day of Visibility is planned to be an "in-person" reception. On Thursday, March 31, from 6:00 PM - 9:30 PM, gather at the San Francisco landmark, SOMArts Gallery, 934 Brannan Street. Come out and celebrate "Trans Joy" with us! We have some exciting things in store for you. It has been two years of waiting and uncertainty due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We did our diligence by staying home to protect each other and lower the infection rate and possible fatalities in our communities. Now it's time for our community to slowly and surely shine!
...Continuing with Transgender Visibility at SF Pride – Plans for the Resistance Contingent
It has been a San Francisco Pride tradition to showcase a facet of the LGBTQI2S community at the front of the Parade each year — a unique commitment to maintaining the roots of Pride and honoring our collective history. This year’s theme, Love will Keep Us Together, is a statement that no matter what happens in life, love will keep us together.

We have stuck with each other through so many divisive and regressive challenges, with dynamic strength and vigorous dialogue. Community will always rise to the top as long as love is present.

Eschewing the usual floats and music, representatives from about 20 diverse organizations will lead the Parade with an all-on-foot march down Market Street, highlighting concerns ranging from trans rights, BLM, reproductive rights, immigration policies, and the continued profiling and persecution of Black folks. These voices will lead the normally celebratory event with a political statement reminiscent of the very milestone it commemorates — the Stonewall Rebellion of 1969.

Please fill out the form at sfpride.org/resist (or at the link below) if you and your group would like to join the contingent. We will host a poster-making workshop in the coming months.
