Dear Parents,
First and foremost I must thank the parents of Green Door and Red Door. The goodies you brought in for the staff teacher appreciation lunch were so yummy, you made everyone feel so loved and appreciated!
This week the big excitement we the installation of our new phone system. After years of difficulty with our old system, this one seems to be working perfectly. Now if parents wish to call the classroom, they can do so without going through the front desk. If you need me or the front desk, simply press 1. For main wing classes (Green, Red, Yellow, Blue, & Rainbow), press 2 their their extension. For all other classes press 3 and you will be directed to the class. I have a copy of the class extensions on the front bulletin board.
Please do your best to call the room during non-instructional time or when the kids are napping. That way, teachers can be supervising the class and speak to you while the kids are sleeping and give your call the attention it deserves.
Remember you can always send messages through Brightwheel and the teacher can answer them when they are not busy with the children. The great thing about the phone system is that instead of having just 2 lines and getting a busy signal, there are now 19 lines so your should never have problems getting through. Please be aware if you dial a classroom and they are outside, after a few rings, the call should get redirected to the office.
In the Science Lab this week our VPK kids sorted hundreds of lids by color then put the different colors on a graph. They used the graph to compare which color had the most and which had the least. They also learned about a TIE. We found that both green and red lids both had 99!
This week I also posted the lists outside for summer vacations. Please take a moment to look at your calendar and put on "X" on any weeks you plan to keep your child home this summer. As long as your choices are noted on the paper by May 1, we can assure you will not be billed for weeks you are taking off. This will also help me to plan staff vacations.
